So, bought the eBook of this for my Kindle. After looking through the entire book for a code and googling to see where it could be, I decided to call amazon and see if they could help... So, I called the 40 minutes ago and am still on the phone attempting to get my access code so I can do my homework. No luck, I've spoken with 3 different people including the publisher and I'm still beating a dead horse. This is becoming incredibly frustrating and I'm so tempted to say 'screw this' and return the book and just buy it directly from the publisher so I don't have to deal with people that have no idea about what I'm saying. Oh, and highlight; have said I have the digital copy no less than 11 times and he tells me 'the code is on the inside of the back cover on a note card'... !!!!!!!!

If you need the access code for WebAssign DO NOT rent this book. It does not include the WebAssign code and you will not be able to use it

I was not a fan of this book. The examples that were put in the book were not step by step and it became very confusing trying to learn Precalculus. This course was online for me, so I had to fill in a lot of the details myself as far as learning this subject. This is more on my professor, but the examples in the book were nothing close to what was in the web assign homework or on our tests. If I had a choice, I wouldn't buy another book through Cengage Learning.

I bought this for a college math class. My professor didn't use the textbook but only the online WebAssign. I liked the practice tests that the book offered for each chapter, but I didn't use the book much. The online WebAssign, however, for doing homework assignments, I used a lot. WebAssign was continually not working; the site would go down for long periods of time. The site was picky when accepting answers, which is not unusual for an online math site.

I bought this book for my precalculus class and it was great. The professor didn't exactly teach out of the book, so strictly speaking I didn't need it, but when I was stuck on a topic I looked it up in the book and it helped me understand. The book came in a box and was undamaged. I'm very pleased.

The web assign online homework is problematic and frustrating to use. For example, .20 would be accepted as a correct answer but 1/5 would not even though both values are equal. The online help can be useful for difficult problems.

Making Pre-Calculus MORE COMPLICATED to learn. This book is a HORRIBLE textbook. Example: Answer: 5 answer in back of the book: Square root of 25....crap like that. The way this guy writes is very bad. Does not know how to be CONCISE. Uses 55 words to state a four word concept. I personally LOVE MATH AND SCIENCE!!!! This text will make you HATE math, at least the pretentious author who wrote it. There are many really cool equations in the text and great Math History side notes, but the ACTUAL PARTS you need to learn PRECALCULUS REALLY REALLY SUCKS!!!! This textbook is like getting a really cool car with LOTS of gadgets, but the motor only has 62 horse power and get 5 mpg with a top speed of 48 mph, and breaks down every other week. That is THIS BOOK. Starts out with the most complex equations instead of building up to a more difficult problems. If you were taught music OR a language this way NO ONE would know how to play ANYTHING or be able to SPEAK. James Stewart provides an exponential logarithmic amount of frustration with an infinite level of moronic text editing to provide a blue print for failure. Buy Blitzer's text instead and learn math the correct way.

The book itself rocks! I love it, I couldn't be happier with it. However, the sender didn't mention there were stickers covering the whole outter covers and I didn't like that.
