try it,
This review is from: Precious Cat Cat Attract Problem Cat Training Litter, 20 pound bag (Misc.)
We have 3 indoor only cats, one who just would not use any of our 4 litterboxes placed throughout the house. I was constantly mopping up puddles. After many visits to the vet to make sure there wasn't a physical problem, I happend across this litter and decided to give it a try. Much to my suprise, after only one day, our problem child decided to use the litter boxes. Its been 2 years and we have had no setbacks. Another plus is that there is hardly any dust. Try it, you have nothing to lose and a clean smelling house to gain.

I have a cat who would "think outside the box" and I tried everything over the first 7 years to resolve the situation. (Different litter boxes and litters.) Now, I can't say it was this product alone, because when I finally found my solution - it was using this product, in conjunction with the Kitty Wonderbox litterbox. But I've had my experience with various kinds of litter, and I LOVE THIS LITTER!
I really dislike perfume smells, and was concerned about chemicals and the environment, so I stayed away from clay litter for the longest time. I used Swheat Litter for quite a long time, preferring that among most of the biodegradeable litters. I've tried the corn, paper pellets and pine - and all of them would be OK, but still leave a bit of a smell. At that time, I still preferred them, though, because they didn't have perfumes or chemicals AND were better for the environment. But, I still had a house that REEKED of URINE! (One of my cat's was still peeing on the floor.) So, I came full circle when finding this one because it has no perfumes - just a very light herbal scent and the odor is TRULY FRESH! I was hesitant at first, because it was clay, and I didn't want to add to the landfill... (same with the disposable Wonderbox.) But... it (they both) have been a GOD SEND! First of all, my cat found success in using this litter/box combo. And now, if all that happened was the cat began peeing in the litter, I would have been overjoyed - but that happened PLUS I found a combination cat litter/box which has NO ODOR! I DO NOT SMELL OUR LITTER ANYMORE!!! I even get down at cat level to smell it, and am blown away that there really isn't an odor after more than a week of use! This has excellent odor control.... and in combination with the Wonderbox, I am truly blown away. I would recommend this for people having open houses/trying to sell their home - use both of these products together. I know of another FRESH, (non-smelling - non-perfumed) product for cleaning any accidents, too, that I've been using for several years. Wish it was sold on Amazon so I could write a review on it! Search NOGC to find it. (They sell different products - but I love B.O.S.S. the most - you'd be amazed how blood will disappear with it!) Oh - but I will say - you may not need to buy the more expensive Cat Attract... I RECENTLY discovered the other clay litter by the same company - and have started using it instead. If your cat has a problem, maybe start with Cat Attract for consistency of scent, until the cat is fully accustomed to it, then you could try this... You can buy the herbal additive by this same company, and get their regular clay litter in the Blue bag (which still has no perfumes/smell) - and I sprinkle that additive on top occasionally. I find it is cheaper, and I like the scent of the herbal - and so do the cats... (that's how I KNOW they like it - they come in from the other room with this ultra "I gotta use that litter now" look when I sprinkle it on top.) And I really like the smell of it - so it's nice to sprinkle on an amount that I can smell too, every once in awhile. Just a suggestion! Oh, and as another tip if your cat isn't using his/her box - (mine hated covered boxes, because he felt trapped/unsafe - he had an unfortunate mishap with another cat when he was a kitten.) I witnessed it, and it took me awhile to put the pieces together to understand the root of the problem. But that was a big thing for him! Having an open litter box makes a BIG difference for him! That's not all of it - but that's a piece of my puzzle, that may help someone else.... good luck! (and sorry I wrote so much - hard to say it all in a short amount!)

The only litter my cat likes,
This review is from: Precious Cat Cat Attract Problem Cat Training Litter, 20 pound bag (Misc.)
My cat has only used the litterbox once or twice a week for all of the year and a half she's lived with me. I tried all kinds of litter and various locations of the box, as well as exploring medical concerns. Just as I was becoming resigned to having my bedroom carpet peed on several times a day, someone recommended this litter to me and it is fantastic stuff. She used the box twice within ten minutes of it being filled with Cat Attract. I will never use a different kind of litter with her again.

Finally!!!!,

My cat stopped using her box since late last summer. It's now almost May. We thought it was because of some crystallization found in her urine. We treated that with medicine from her doctor. She still went on the floor (right outside her box). I tried buying a new litterbox. I tried buying 2 boxes- one for her and one for her sister. I tried using a different kinds of litter (including World's Best and Feline Pine-which is awesome and I will eventually go back to). I tried using Feliway. Nothing ever changed. Eventually, I just gave up and bought puppy pads for the floor so it would be easier to clean up. I never thought that this stuff would work because the active ingredient is just "natural herbs", which to me translated to catnip and my cat couldn't care less about catnip.
Finally, when I called the vet back to get a refill on her Prozac, a different doctor called back and suggested that I try this stuff. What the heck, right? I tried everything else. Originally, I just bought the additive and added it to the Feline Pine 'cause I just figured buying both their litter and the additive was a marketing ploy. She didn't respond to that, so I bought the actual Cat Attract litter and added the litter additive. She has used the litter box now ever since!!! I never write reviews. Even if I really love a product, I just forget. This stuff impressed me so much I had to let everyone know.

I tried everything to stop a newly adopted 2 year old cat from peeing on the floor. I used 2 Feliway diffusers, the spray and even meds from the vet. In desperation, and on the verge of bringing the cat to a shelter, I tried Cat Attract Kitty Litter. Save your money, try the Cat Attract litter first!

I have 9 cats and use SWheat litter because it's natural and doesn't have any dust. Unfortunately, it also turns the urine to mud at the bottom of the litter box. The Cat Attract does a wonderful job when added to the SWheat litter in that it really clumps the urine....no more mud. I often wonder though...what they mean by 99.9% dust free. This stuff just puffs into the air when I clean the box, almost like baby powder would (and I only use maybe a couple of cups full of Cat Attract to a whole box of SWheat). Needless to say, dust all over the place. I do have to add though, that I did have a problem cat that was urinating out of the box and THAT seems to have stopped altogether. So, it's a trade-off. Dust versus no accidents. I guess I'll take the "no accidents" until I can find a litter that's REALLY dust free and clumps the urine.

HARDLY ANY DUST,

I tried every cat litter on the market (clay, pine, paper). Living in an apartment, there is no good place to put the litter box and thelitter dust would collect everywhere even when the litter was supposedly "dust free". I was concerned with the weight of the litter at first but the cats got used to it almost immediately. So far I have seen little to no dust coming from the box and the kitties don't track it all over.
I am a life long customer!!!

My cat's are very picky about their litter and I like to mix a cup of this product to their litterbox. We travel alot and sometimes they do not want to get in the litter box easily, I add some of this product and like magic... they go!

For a couple of years, my cat has refused to poop in the litterbox. I tried everything from adding additional boxes, boxes with and without hoods, different types of litter, sprays to keep him from problem areas, plug-ins to 'calm' him....nothing worked. He would still only go #2 on the basement floor, even though he had no problem urinating in the litter. With a new baby, this was not a problem I was willing to deal with anymore. After searching online, I found this product. I was hesitant, especially given the high price as compared to the traditional litter brands, but decided to try this as the last resort. Before I could even finish filling the litter box with this, my cat was sniffing around and crawled right in. He used it right away, and to my surprise even began to bury his mess, which he has never done before. We've been using this litter for about a month now, with only 2 accidents since the beginning, both of which were probably my fault for skipping a day of scooping out the litter. We currently have 2 boxes out, one with the 'old' litter and one with 'Cat Attract', and he is now using both litters and burying his messes in both boxes. I don't find this to be dust free, as other reviewers and the bag say it is. However, it does have far less dust than his other litter. Overall, I would highly recommend this if you have a problem kitty and nothing else has worked. I don't know how this works, but it does!! Update - November 9, 2011: Since I thought I had my cat's 'problem' under control, I began slowly mixing in his old litter with the Cat Attract. I just topped it off a little each time, hoping to transition him back to the original, less expensive litter. It worked...at first. Once the ratio of old litter to Cat Attract litter hit about 50/50, the problems returned. We had piles of poop next to the litter for three days in a row now. Needless to say, I think we're going to have to go back to the Cat Attract. Luckily, I found the 40 lb. bag at a much cheaper price (only a few dollars more than the 20 lb. bag on Amazon) at my local Mart for Pets...if you know what I mean. I filled his box with the Cat Attract this morning, and will update in a few days. Update - December 15, 2011: Only one poop outside of the litter since my last update. Pretty good for over a month! I am still keeping one box with Cat Attract and one box with Tidy Cats. Why he will poop in the Tidy Cat litter (as well as the Cat Attract) when both litters are available, but not when I only have Tidy Cats out is beyond me. Why he will stop using the litter when I mix the two is also baffling. I'm giving up on trying to figure it out. All I know is the Cat Attract is somehow working. I'm sticking with the 5 star review! Also, as a side note, the bag of Cat Attract I currently have definitely has less dust than the first bag I bought, and I would say this bag is relatively dust free. |
