Unpleasant-sounding, March 25, 2005

If you read some of my other reviews of Mapleshade CDs, you will see that I am rather a fan of Mapleshade. They generally do an absolutely excellent job in the recording/engineering process. I do not always like the musical content, however. In the case of this particular CD, I cannot give it a favorable review. The music itself might be tolerable, but the recording-quality is not. It is miked such that the singer's voice saturates the recording, making it harsh, edgy and (to my ears) unlistenable.
