Sing it, Sister!,

This album, recorded later in Sister Rosetta's career, shows she still had it. She can sing it sweet, sing it soulful, or rock out. This has a nice song selection, and she was in fine voice (and HOT on that guitar!) when it was recorded. One thing I like better about this cd than "Live in 1960" is that she has a back up band (piano, organ, percussion, and bass, which adds a little more dimension than just her and her guitar. Highly recommended if you prefer her electric guitar work.

Despite the cheesy-looking CD design, this late-period Sister Tharpe session for Savoy swings like a jazz date.
Even heathens like me can't resist the infectious Rosetta's soul-stylings! |
