Each bottle has 1/2 fl oz of acid. The sturdy plastic bottles maximize safety and allows the user to easily squeeze out one drop at a time. You receive: One bottle of 10k testing acid. One bottle of 14k testing acid. One bottle of 18k testing acid. One bottle of 22k testing acid. One bottle of silver testing acid. One bottle of platinum testing acid. Acid Test Stone. This is a new acid testing stone. This stone is used to test 10k, 14k, 18k and silver. Use this stone with acid solutions. It measures approximately 1 7/8" x 1 7/8" x 3/16" (47 x 47 x 5 mm).
Please note the review below is from 2010. I might give these a 2nd chance 3 years later, but I eventually moved to an electronic tester and only use acids for silver and (rarely) platinum . . .
I purchased this just a few days ago. EZSell got it to me really fast and in good shape. However I have some problems with this product. It seems that either my acids were old out of the box, or they were terribly mislabeled.
The acids should get stronger as you go up in karat. The 10K acid had no effect on marked 14K - this is correct. the 14K acid bubbled and emmitted a brown cloud over the jewelry. This would indicate that it was mismarked, and lower than 14k gold. I pressed on. the 18K acid only had a mild effect. This would indicate that the bracelet was in fact 18k gold, even though it was only marked 14k and the 14k test and said it was even less than that!. Ok finally I tried the 22k acid. I got a pretty big effect and color change After repeatedly comparing I determined that the 14k acid was stronger than the 22k acid.
So this means Only the 10K acid was properly labeled. The 14k acid was actually 22k strength. The 18k acid was actually 14k. And finally the Acid labeled 22k is actually the 18k acid.
Once I figured that out the kit worked fine. The silver solution worked as it should. I don't have any platinum to test. Next time I'll buy one of the kits with white tops. Stay away from the colored tops. If they couldn't get the acids in the right bottles, how well did they measure the acid mixture?

I should have listen to the review that said the bottles weren't labeled correctly, I hope all who are considering buying now listen to me. These acids are not mixed right!!! Do not buy! I scratched with known and tested 14k gold and the 10 and 14 acid made the gold line disappear. Perhaps as the other review stated the other bottles have the 10 and 14 labeled as 18, 22, silver or platinum but at $1200+ an ounce do I really take a chance? I hope Amazon stops dealing with such an unscrupulous vender.

We used the test kit to identify a small pile of unmarked gold, sold it on eBay and the customer was satisfied. Next three lots of scrap didn't come out so well. Despite carefully following the (somewhat minimal) instructions that came with the kit, and repeating the test several times, the eBay buyers informed us that we had made a mistake and they wanted their money refunded (naturally we waited until we received the returns and made absolutely certain the buyers had returned the exact same items sold.) Besides the obvious "all that glitters is not gold", we learned that it takes lots of practice and possibly even expert instruction to test gold.

Maybe the seller should actually go to sell a piece or gold or two after testing, they perform an entirely different test. They scratch the piece and place the acid directly onto the piece if it bubbles then it is electroplate, if it rolls off then it is Gold as marked, really how can you just scratch the surface of anything and tell if it is actually pure or not, especially onto a black stone and be expected to tell what color its changing. What a waste of time and money not to mention the amount that was charged to ship, more expensive than the kit itself. Don't buy this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm a total newbie to this stuff. Using the instruction sheet that came with the kit, plus, watching some youtube video's, I got a 'feel' for the testing process. So far, so good. I have been able to determine both silver and gold content. One note to the company that sent me the kit (Bella Findings House).... the bottle of silver testing acid needed to be poked with a needle. The bottle nozzle was either sealed or clogged. IOW, when I tried to squeeze a drop of acid onto the stone, NOTHING! A simple needle poke opened the nozzle. The other 5 bottles didn't have this minor issue.
A few comments I can add to those getting into the 'metal testing' process. Consider getting a large stone. The stone I received with this kit is 2" x 2". It works fine, but, I'd prefer to have a larger stone. With a larger stone you can do more tests without acids running into each other. Also, think about buying either testing needles or small files. Reasons: you may want to test jewelry without making a visible mark on the item. Using a file you can create exposed metal in an inconspicuous area and drop the acid into this area -- versus rubbing your jewelry onto hard stone creating a visible mark on your beloved item. Testing needles seems to be a good idea as well to get your 'testing' chops together.

After looking at the feedback I realized that 90% of the people who bought this did not have a clued as to what they were getting, or how to use it properly.
Scratch acid testing is just one way to test an item to see if it is gold. If done properly you can tell with a great certainty as to what you have
I do a lot of yard sales after a while you will be able to just tell when something is gold. Weight, color, markings tell a lot, but proper acid testing will tell you the truth.
