This review is from: 52 Precise Ways To Market Your Business For Immediate Profit (Kindle Edition)
There is no real secret to success in business. There are hundreds of things you need to do right, and if you get 97% of them right, you'll be a rip-roaring success. If you get 95% right, you'll do well. Get 92% right, and you'll muddle through. When it drops to 90%, you are a business failure. That's cruel, but it's the way things work. Part of it is that there are lots of 92% businesses wanting to eat your lunch, and a few 95% businesses that customers really want to deal with. But at 90%, your competitors don't really matter. Instead of buying the bass boat you're selling, your prospects decide to take golf lessons, or get that cute little sports car. You simply aren't creating any desire for your product. This is a 90% book. When I read all the various topics that the book is going to cover, I thought, "Oh, wow! This could be an awfully long and tedious book to read." Covering all the bases is not an inherently bad thing. Some business writers, furthermore, are quite entertaining, and I never complained that Zig Ziglar's books were too long! However, the typography is abysmal. There are phrases that are almost invisible on the e-Ink screen, for one thing. What's more, the book not only inserts odd content in the middle of a paragraph, but inserts all sorts of linebreaks in locations where there ought not be a line break - even, in one case, after the first character of the first word of a sentence. If your business needs marketing help for immediate profit, you don't have a lot of time to waste trying to puzzle out what this author is saying - and if you don't need marketing help for immediate profit, you don't need a book on this topic. This book has nothing other books on the subject don't have - and given the struggle to make sense of what this book is saying, I must recommend that you not waste your time with this book. |
