I got these gauges as opposed to the metal ones because I read in the metal gauge reviews that the gauges were drenched in oil and that oil made things messy when being used. My main use for these gauges is for my guitar and I didn't want to oil up the fretboard so I looked to these gauges as an alternative. The thicker the gauge the more rigid and sturdy it is but I was disappointed that the ultra thin gauges were basically like paper so they weren't sturdy like I expected. I had false expectations considering plastic that's paper thin shouldn't stand up as easily as metal. Just a drawback, other than that, the product is just fine and does the job. Please be aware of this if you are going to use the very thin gauges.

I bought this set of feeler gauges to maintain my 3D printer, so this review is based entirely on using this tool for that purpose.

Any time the 3D printer nozzles are removed and re-installed for cleaning or replacement or whatever, the nozzle(s) must be carefully repositioned to the proper height relative to the printer platform. Feeler gauges are a great tool for this job.

I use this gauge set to ensure that both nozzles on my dual-extruder printer are installed to exactly the same level so that neither nozzle will interfere with the material that was deposited by the other nozzle, which can happen if one nozzle is re-installed in a lower position than the other, causing it to 'dredge' through material laid by the other nozzle.

I've done four complete remove-and-replace nozzle operations using this set of gauges and I'm perfectly happy. My print quality is fantastic and my dual-extrusion prints come off without a hitch.

As an added bonus these are quite flexible, which makes them easier to use within the confines of a 3D printer's work area than similar metal feeler gauges. Further, you can identify the few most useful gauges for your jobs and separate them from the rest. I even cut one of them in half to make a small, convenient gauge that I can grab without having to handle the whole set.

I like this set better than any metal set of feeler gauges I've owned- and they'll never rust into a solid block of uselessness!

Perhaps the best feature is the color-coding of the individual gauges. This makes it really easy to remember which gauge is used for which job.

NOTE: These are plastic, and so probably shouldn't be used to take measurements while the printer nozzles are at printing temperature, for this could melt the gauges. This may also make this set less useful to anyone working on engine valves or any other hot application.

No markings on the blades themselves. Do not loose it's holder (where you'll find the color code) unless you have an astounding memory. Not worth over 10$ IMO.
