Precision Design ET-60 Lens Hood for Canon EF 70-300 f/4.0-5.6 USM, II, USM III,,

This review is from: Precision Design ET-60 Lens Hood for Canon EF 75-300mm f/4.0-5.6 USM, II, II USM, III USM Lenses and Canon EF-S 55-250mm IS Lens (Electronics)
This hood looks and connects like the Canon brand. I found the design and quality to be as fuctional and the Canon brand as a lesser price. I recommend this as a smart choice for photographers on a limited budget. This hood can be installed backwards on the lens to add in space management in your camera bag.
The first installation on my lens was real tight, but careful installation and removal several times corrected the the possible problem of fit and it loosened enough to allow normal snug fit.

The products fits my telephoto lens well. Service was fast and all the paperwork was correct. I would buy from them again.

An inexpensive lens hood that provides good value. Fits my Canon EFS 55-250 Image Stablized lens just fine. I'm sure a Canon hood that costs much more is better quality but this one seems to do the job. Note that different Canon lens have slightly different bayonet mounts. This one has three "lugs" on the mount so if your lens has only two, it won't fit as reported by users with other Canon telephoto lenses. The hood construction feels like fairly cheap but cosmetically acceptable plastic. Time will tell if it holds up (i.e doesn't crack/break).

This brand of lens hood is an ideal alternative to the costly lens hoods by Canon, that should already be included in their costly lens` to begin with.

Another reviewer claims it does not fit this lens but I received it today and it fits great. It turns clockwise (when facing the lens) for a nice snug fit - even with a filter on the lens. I suggest the other reviewer try again.
I have bought a few items from this company and they are very responsive and goods arrive quickly - even across country to California.

The low price of this plastic lens hood should tell you that it isn't going to be as exciting as a Canon branded accessory. But it mounts well on the 55-250mm lens, and for $12.95, it gets the job done, and is light weight. It is also made to mount in reverse, so you can keep it on the lens when not in use, or when you store it.
Another reviewer said it didn't fit the Canon EF-S 55-250 IS lens, but I've mounted it on my lens, and it fits fine.

I just received this lens hood and I'm very happy with it. I wasn't expecting much since the price was so low, but it works the same as the more expensive Canon product. Construction is good and it attaches easily. It also reverse mounts for easy storage. You will be happy you got it!!!

Not much to a lens hood and for the money you can't beat this one. Fit's like the canon but for under half the cost

I bought this for my Canon 55-250mm lens. The quality is decent. It fits my lens, but doesn't quite snap in place like my other lens hood. I think this is mainly due to it being more of a universal hood for Canon as well as Nikon.
A little side note, even though it fits, the lens name isn't listed on the packaging. Overall, I probably couldn't find a cheaper option and it does the job so I'm happy. |
