5.0 out of 5 stars inexpensive, and well made
I am very happy with this flash bracket. It does exactly what it is designed to do- move the flash away from the camera, and gives a dramatic improvement to flash-lit pictures. 2.0 out of 5 stars Not functional for vertical shots
PRO: This is clearly a knock-off of the Stroboframe 350 at about half the price.

PRO: I cradle the lens with my left hand and use my right hand to grip the camera and trip the shutter. With the handle mounted on the left, you can still use that "hold" for horizontal framing without any interference from the bracket.

CON: With the handle mounted...

I am very happy with this flash bracket. It does exactly what it is designed to do- move the flash away from the camera, and gives a dramatic improvement to flash-lit pictures. The build quality feels sturdy, holds the camera and flash securely, and is large enough to fit "professional" DSLR bodies and DSLRs with battery grips. The velcro cable straps were a nice addition. This is my first experience with a flash bracket, so I cannot compare directly with others, but I would definitely recommend this product, especially considering the low price.

I was pretty nervous getting the knock-off version for my flash bracket, but I liked the price, so I decided to go for it. It came the day of one of my scheduled wedding shoots, and I decided to use it cold turkey. It was WELL WORTH THE PURCHASE. It's incredibly lightweight and moves the flash easily. There are no extra buttons that you have to push to manuever it, just an easy flip with your hand. The padding is perfect for long days of holding your camera. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a bracket.

This review is from: Precision Design Quick Flip Rotating FB350 Flash Bracket for Digital SLR Cameras & Speedlight Flashes (Electronics)

CON: With the handle mounted on the right, you cannot use that "hold" for horizontal framing because there is not enough room between the handle and the camera body to fit your hand.

CON: Left handle mount requires a 90 degree clockwise rotation for vertical framing. This moves your left hand to the top and your right hand to the bottom, creating an awkward, unstable grip.

CON: Although not possible for the reasons mentioned above, a right handle mount would be the preferred mounting method for vertical shots if there was more room between the handle and the camera because most of us prefer our shutter hand on top when framing verically. This would also benefit those who have a 'vertical' shutter release on the bottom right of the camera body.

BOTTOM LINE: Good price and good for horizontal framing. But not good enough for me so this bracket will be going back. Now I guess I have to get a Custom bracket (where the camera swivels not the flash) and pay big bucks!

I would highly recommend this bracket as the price is right and I have never had any troubles. Swing to accommodate vertical shots easily. You might have a little trouble reaching the shutter release on the vertical setting but considering the money saved, well worth the small inconvenience.

It works. It is cheap. Though the shoe mount is really hard to tighten and sometimes unstable. (Its cheap). Always awesome when your flash comes swinging off in front of clients!

I like the quality & flexibility of the bracket. However, I'm having trouble keeping my Canon 580 II on the top, the flash wants to slide out. Maybe I'm doing something wrong with the tightening mechanism??

I almost gave this a 5 star review. The only issues I've had with it, which were no big deal for me but I could see bothering other buyers are:
1) The nut that goes on the swivel kept coming unscrewed after flipping the bracket a few times. I had a locking nut on hand and replaced it with that and have had no further problems, if you don't have one on hand and yours has the same issue that could be a bit of an inconvenience.
2) The hotshoe mount would not securely hold the end of my generic ettl cord (don't know if it would hold the Canon branded one any better). I just unscrewed the mount and used the same screw to directly attach it to the bracket, which would be an inconvenience if I wanted to use the same cord off camera without the bracket.
For me I'm still really happy with it, it serves my purposes well for as often as I need a bracket and I'm glad I didn't spend the extra money on the more known brand.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great product for the price, September 7, 2009

The only reason this got a 4 star rating is because the mount on the top of the camera does not close far enough to hold my flash... keep that in mind if you are buying this expecting to use the mount. I, however am not using the mount, as I purchased a hot shoe cord that I just screwed on top using the screw that comes with the bracket.

It's a nice bracket for the price. It is a sturdy, all metal frame with a nice grip.

If you are a beginner or don't have a ton of money to spend, this is a nice bracket. The only thing I don't like about it is it does not have a hinge at the bottom, so it is not easy to store. It takes up a lot of room in my camera bag.

Also when you use the bracket as a Left handle mount you must rotate the camera clockwise for vertical shots. I"m used to rotating the camera counter-clockwise, with my hand on top so its a little akward... I think I can get used to it though.

Next time I'll definitely invest a little more money and get one that has a hinge at the bottom for more movement of the flash and so it will fold down.

For the price, you can't beat it! I'm a bargain shopper - I will search and search until I find the best deal. I don't care if it's a generic brand, but it still needs to hold to standards. And this little gem has been great!! I've photographed weddings, main stream concerts, etc... this product has not let me down! GREAT BUY!

I'm like any other young inspiring photographer. Always on a budget. When I needed a flash bracket after purchasing a Nikon SC28 I went and bought this bracket because of its low cost. It works well. You get what you pay for. The reason why I give it 4 stars is because I had to go and buy a manfrotto hot shoe converter to put my hot shoe on. When attaching it to the flash bracket my flash fell right off. When you get this, and you have to do the same thing as me, make sure you screw it in tightly. Never the less, great flash bracket, but if you have the money, I'd suggest you get a RPS bracket.
