Easy to assemble, very hard wood, nice size and not too heavy for its size. Solid construction such that my two 51 pound daughters can sit on the roof together. No apparent fading or degradation after three months of use. The dog house is relatively inexpensive if you consider what you get. It is also relatively easy to clean since the floor is removable from the housing.

I just got this put together and it seems well enough constructed. It was incredibly easy to put together. There are 8 bolts holding the sides together, 8 screws holding the feet on, and 4 screws holding the roof on. They even give you one extra of each of the fasteners incase you lose one. The sides are actually tongue and groove cedar planks, not fiberboard or pine made to look like T+G cedar. The roof is one piece with the asphalt singles already installed. The kit is mostly cedar, which is nice since it will resist bugs and rot better than pine will.
The packaging could be better (or the shipper could be more careful) because there was some damage to mine when I got it. It was nothing that couldn't be fixed with some gorilla glue, though. It is a heavy box (63 lbs) so the odds of some damage occurring in shipping are higher than normal. I'm sure I could have got a replacement but gluing the one damaged board was a much easier fix. Originally I had looked at the plastic igloo/dogloo type houses but given the universally negative views on those I decided to give this one a try, which has positive reviews on other sites. I am glad I went this route. It is a much better house and it sure looks a lot better too.
