5.0 out of 5 stars Jon Wiederhorn??
I think Jon was not in a right state of mind or something when he chipped in his review of this album. More than likely he decided to give U.D.O.'s "Solid" album a listen and think twice about whether or not the Tank's age is in question. And a comparison to ZZ Top??? I'm really stumped on that one. He might as well compare Slayer to Shania Twain. It was a...

He might as well compare Slayer to Shania Twain. It was a real treat to hear Peter sing again. The duet with Udo on Crossroads is a fan's dream come true. Hard Attack and Take Out The Crime make any ZZ Top song sound like a nursery rhyme.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must for any Accept fan!, May 21, 2000
This review is from: Predator (Audio CD)
In the 90s, when many other hard rock bands weren't doing as well as the previous decande, Accept was still as good as ever. This album may not have quite the level of intensity of Death Row or Restless & Wild, but it's definitely close. This is a typical Accept album; it is fast, aggressive, & technically adept hard rock. I totally agree with the reviewer who said that this is nothing like ZZ Top about that! My only complaints about this album are the last song "Primitive" which isn't too great (but not bad) and Peter's singing on many of the songs (the duet with Udo was nice, but I thought there were too many places on the album where Peter sung.) Even if you haven't heard much Accept, but you like power metal music, you'll probably like this album very much.

5.0 out of 5 stars Final studio release,outstanding power rock-grab it!!!!!!, January 4, 1999

This final studio CD from Germany is as good and as explosive as all the rest. Peter Bates really stands out on this CD, Lay It Down & It Ain't Over Yet feature him. Run Through The Night is a throw back to the power ballad - the rest is pure power rock. True rockers will love this. Temendous guitar work, they are really together on this one. A must have for all power people.

5.0 out of 5 stars This one kicks!, July 6, 2011
This review is from: Predator (Audio CD)
Okay, Mr. Wienerhorn must have been off his rocker when he made those unfounded comparisons to ZZ Top and The Cult. Man, this album isn't even close to sounding like those hacks. Just to set the record straight, ZZ Top was an awesome band in the beginning but soon sold out to the record company executives and, subsequently, the masses. BOOOOO! But Accept has NEVER sold out, and this album is proof of that. With the catchy riffing, grab-ya-by-the-balls lyrics, and scorching, stylish solos, for the most part, this is metal at its finest.

And who the fart cares if Udo is 60-years-old, or 90-years-old, or 40-years-old, or 20-years-old, or a freakin' infant in a crib...rock is timeless, man. There is no required maximum age where all rockers must turn down their radios, put on their green pants and plaid shirts, drive as slow as a watched clock, and listen to Perry Como and Frank Sinatra all day. Who is this guy anyway?

Folks, look at the other reviews and know that Accept's Predator kicks a**!!!!!!!

2.0 out of 5 stars OK, But Nowhere Near As Good As Their Previous Releases, December 12, 2002

I have been a long time Accept fan since I first heard them at high school, but I must say that this album is nowhere near as good as their previous releases. The production sounds great and there are some good things about the album, but in general I think it lacks consistency.
I love the opening track "Hard Attack", it's a real hard rocking a#s kicker! It has the great gang vocals of classic Accept and rocks on in the AC/DC or Krokus sounding style. Unfortunately the rest of the album does not come close to being as good.
The next track "Crossroads" is the next best track with Udo and bassist Peter Baltes sharing the vocals.
Others which are ok are "Lay It Down" and "It Ain't Over Yet" on which Peter sings lead vocals (he sounds like a cross between Paul DiAnno & Gene Simmons), and another couple of rockers with Udo again - "Don't Give A Damn" and "Run Through The Night". However even these are nothing outstanding.
The rest of the tracks are just fillers which should not have been put on an album. I think that they would have been better off holding the release of this album until they put some more better songs on it to give it more consistency. To me it sounds like a band who have lost direction and are about to go their separate ways.
If you wanto to get into Accept, check out albums like "Balls To The Wall", "Restless & Wild", "Metal Heart" & "Russian Roulette".
I don't think this album is worth getting (despite the great opening track) unless you are like me and want to complete your Accept collection. Thankfully Udo has gone on to release far better albums with his new band.
2.5 stars for this one I reckon.
