3.0 out of 5 stars Better..
This book was one of the better Animorphs. As KA Applegate continued writing them, they fell into a pattern. This one was definately better than some of the others. Well.. still, only read it if you are under ten years old. Thanks!

5.0 out of 5 stars Being an Aniorph is INSANE!, April 1, 2000
This review is from: The Predator (Animorphs, No. 5) (Paperback)
Marco looks out for himself and his dad. Ever since his mother died, he has been doing a lot of the housework and keeping his life normal in his cynical way. Then he and his four friends, Jake, Rachel, Cassie, and Tobias, were given the power to turn into any animal they want. They have to protect Earth from the Yeerks, a slug-like alien species which wants to take over the the human race. Marco is not too happy about this. All he ever wanted was a calm life. But his world is gong to change even more when he meets Visser One, leader of the Yeerks and who he's infesting.

Marco never wanted to be an animorph. Kids who turned into animals to save the world from evil space slugs called yeerks. It was just INSANE! But then Ax, the andalite (a species that have been fighting the yeerks for a long time. They were born with he abilit to morph. One of them gave the animorphs their powers) decides he wants to go home. And to do that he needs a yeerk spaceship. after going through hilarious antics at the mall and having a terrfying experience as ants, they call a fighter ship. The plan is to knock out the drivers in their most powerful morphs. But the yeerk blade ship also comes which contains Visser Three the only yeerk to infest an andalite. The animorphs are caught and brought aboard the yeerk mothership. There they meet Visser One, one of the yeerks' most poerful leaders. But Marco feels like he's known Visser One all his life.

5.0 out of 5 stars I love blue horses with scorpian tails, July 21, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Predator (Animorphs, No. 5) (Paperback)
I love these books since I was young and have been rebuilding my collection since I donated mine years ago. It is sad you can't get new copies of the books but I am getting used copies and treating them with a product libraries use to treat their books so they will last forever as i will probably be the only one reading them until I have kids.

4.0 out of 5 stars Tense, September 18, 2008
This review is from: The Predator (Animorphs, No. 5) (Paperback)
This was a surprisingly emotional book that helped solidify my love for this series back in the day. Applegate was smart enough to take the classically funny guy with hidden pain and turn into a storyline that affects the main plot of the entire series. Great action sequences as well.

4.0 out of 5 stars A cool book, January 2, 2006
This review is from: The Predator (Animorphs, No. 5) (Paperback)
It was a fun book, the first one Marco, his jokes are just soo funny, another reason why I read these books, no matter how bad they get in trouble or how hurt someone is he can always make you laugh. I likes when he beat up those muggers with his gorilla morph.

This review is from: The Predator (Animorphs, No. 5) (Paperback)
I like this book a lot. The best Animorphs book I've read. Right after I read it, I swore to myself that I would always read Marco books. (He's an Animorphs character.)

4.0 out of 5 stars What you see isn't always what you get..., September 3, 2004
This review is from: The Predator (Animorphs, No. 5) (Paperback)
Marco never wanted to be an Animorph. He never wanted to risk his life saving the world with his animal-morphing powers. He knew that if he died, his father would go insane--since both his son and wife would be gone forever. Now, the two year anniversary of Marco's mother's death is coming, and Marco is nervous. And after a dangerous mission that almost got he, Jake, and Ax killed, Marco decides to quit.

But before he quits, Marco decides to go on one last mission to steal a Yeerk ship from Visser Three so Ax can use it to return to the Andalite planet. However, the kids' plan goes terribly wrong and they end up trapped. But while everyone else worries how to escape, Marco is shocked when learning a terrible secret. Now, he has a reason to fight the Yeerks. And no matter what it takes, he'll kick butt.

THE PREADTOR contains one of the most shocking secrets in the Animorphs series. And this is definitely one of the best Marco books. Although it was a great read, I had a problem with this book. The first half of the novel was about the Animorphs' adventure at the mall with Ax who keeps running away. Even though it was funny, I would've preferred more Marco dealing with the secret.

This was a *great* book. If you have enjoyed any Animorphs books, you would love this one. It's the one with the most excitement, especially Marco and his friends are captured.

This book was great!
