Anyone that enjoys insights into US and world politics will enjoy this book. Learn how the Millennials are more "1983-ish" than we thought, and how our Fiat economy, begun in the 1970's, is about to burst into naked reality, just like the Emperor's new clothes.

Don't let the word "Predictions" keep you from taking this book seriously, because Hogue is actually a very savvy political writer, in addition to giving insight into future events. This book is a steal at this price in my opinion.

A must read!

I was hoping for a clear cut listing and description of his predictions for 2013 - 2014. Instead of I got a disorganized expose of his political and personal views, particularly his obsession with Global Warming or is it Climate Change because the globe is no longer warming (an inconvenient truth, to coin a phrase :0)). I guess he missed "Climategate" and that IPCC's studies are not always based on scientific, peer-reviewed papers, such their conclusion regarding Glaciers in the Himalayas disappearing by 2035, and the fact that the Arctic ice pack is growing again. Also blames global-warming for, "Volcanic eruptions in Iceland."

Also, a large part of his book was about his relationship with the Indian guru Osho and his experiences as his disciple in India--maybe should have been a topic of another book.

I actually do agree with many of his political opinions and even most of his list of necessary government reforms. But not so much when he states that the Republican party (I am a registered Independent, for disclosure) that they are, "The party of fearful whites in contempt of Latinos , women and gays....", I guess he overlooked Senators Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio, Governor Susana Martinez (a Hispanic and a woman), the 10 Latino Republicans now serving in Congress, and the gay Log Cabin Republicans.

It would have been very helpful for us dense, lazy readers that at the end of the book to have concisely, summarized his predictions instead of having to wade through arcane astrological terms and irrelevant "filler" to find them.

I haven't read any of his previous books, so I have no idea of his track record.

This e-book was fairly cheap so I bought it on a whim, hoping for some psychic predictions of a world-wide nature.
I could only get through 7% of it then gave up - it was incredibly verbose and rambled on and on and on, never seeming to come to a point.
As some of the other reviewers said, it would have been better if the author inserted a list of his actual predictions at the end.

The little bit of information that I managed to glean from what I've read so far is that the book is mainly about the political situation in the US - I'm not a US citizen so it has no deep interest for me.

This author has a hard time staying on the topic and getting to the point. After hanging in there to at least the halfway point, I threw in the towel because it became too frustrating. What a shame because he has some very interesting information to share - - - but the garden with the ripe fruit is just too full of weeds to navigate through. I wasn't willing to continue to invest the time and effort.

All prediction books have to have a scare factor or what would be the point? John Hogue is a politically astute astrologer as well as a Nostradamus scholar and a person who has had a more interesting life than most people. I don't normally read prediction books because most of them seem to be vague, but as an astrologer Hogue pinpoints the times that things could and would happen. Now I know that the predictions started in May, and this is October, but Hougue is an honest guy--I've listened to him on Coast to Coast AM & Dreamland--& he fesses up when he's wrong in the predictions. Mostly he's right on target and he also presents enough info for the reader (especially if they are into astrology) to avoid or deflect most (if not all) of the bad stuff.

Reading predictions for the year is great fun, this book is anything but. It's so serious, and so full of the author's politics, that I just couldn't stay interested. It reads more like one of those dense, political books written for other politicians, not for the normal pubic.

What I expected, was a month by month, or season by season, list of predictions. I'd heard John Hogue on Coast To Coast, and while he's pretty interesting, this book was just too hard to read. Honestly, I don't care what planet is in what house and what that will mean as far as oil prices, or the next war, because oil prices will always go higher, and the powers that be almost manage to talk us into another war(against terrorist or bring freedom or whatever).

John Hogue's writing was harder to understand that Nostradamus' and he wrote in French. I will confess that I only made it through half of this book. Too bad there's not an index at the end where it lines up the predictions. Guess I'll just have to wait for the next time John's on Coast To Coast to see if how many predictions he was correct on, because I only made it half way through the book.

Anyone who follows John Hogue knows he is more a visionary of possible future outcomes than a prophet. He uses down to earth reasoning combined with a knowledge of the past (it repeats itself) and his meditation skills which he calls his Oracle to make uncanny predictions that often come to fruition.
I found it to be fast past and almost reads like an adventure novel with hints of watching the nightly news unfold before you. Mr Hogue is not always on the mark but usually gives you the multiple scenarios that may unfold as the future is not set in stone. The actions taken by us individually and as a planetary consciousness influence the multiple possible outcomes of our future. This goes hand in hand with physics and the multiverse theories popular now.
