Tyl, a Harvard graduate and astrologer for 30 years, offers 58 specific predictions of world events that will take place between now and the year 2012. For those put off by astrology, Tyl confines his trines, conjunctions, and ascendants to starred footnotes, so that the book might be read strictly as a futurist's forecast. Each chapter begins with a sweeping historical overview that places current and conjectured events in perspective. Many of his predictions are intriguing: Iran will become an atomic power in 2000; China will abandon Communism by 1999; a U.S. president will be assassinated in 2012, after which the nation will become a center of world government. For some reason Tyl includes no predictions about Russia, though he does say we will make the first contact with aliens in 2004. Speculative but insightful. George Eberhart

About the Author

Noel Tyl is one of the foremost astrologers in the world. His twenty textbooks have guided astrologers for two generations, and his lecture activities reach out through sixteen countries and some 200,000 miles a year.

Tyl has written the definitive professional manual in the astrology counseling field, the 1,000 page Synthesis & Counseling In Astrology; is consulted regularly by individuals and corporations throughout the world, and directs the Master’s Degree Correspondence Course for Certification of professional astrologers from his office in the Phoenix, Arizona area.

Tyl, a Harvard  University graduate, is also the Presiding Officer of AFAN ( The Association for Astrological Networking), astrology’s world organization. This book isn't even worth using as toilet paper. Not even ONE of his "predictions" have come true. Most are laughable. A couple of these predictions, based on obvious outcomes that ANYONE could have predicted (like Charles and Princess Diana's divorce) and, in fact, have been predicted in the National Enquirer or other rag magazines -- which seem to be Noel Tyl's true source of information.

Get this:
- by September 2000 the UN will be no more.
- by November 1997 Pope John Paul II will "die a peaceful death"
- Pope John Paul II will be successed by "Pope Leo XIV"
- by August 2000 "Pope Leo XIV" will die a "premature death"
- Kim John Il will not lead North Korea
- by September 2004 North and South Korea will be unified
- Sweden, by social unrest, will be completely overhauled (whatever that means) by mid 2000
- The Deutsche Mark will become the European Union standard currency
