About the Author

Erin was pregnant for the first time, and with twins, when she went into pre-term labor. Her girls were born at 24 weeks and two days. From the tragic loss of her first born, Haley, who survived only six short days in the NICU, to the amazing survival of her miracle daughter Mackenzie, now 4 and thriving, came this memory book. Erin wanted a place to record both her daughters different journeys in the NICU. The bereavement section was created for Haley, who in her 6 days changed the lives of all those around her. Although Haley's story is short, Erin wanted to be able to share and reflect on her very important life. The rest of the book grew over time from watching Mackenzie's long 4- month NICU battle. Erin sat by her side everyday writing in a blank journal all her thoughts and feelings and recording every milestone Mackenzie had, no matter what it was. She wanted Mackenzie to have a baby book just like other babies, but none of them fit her daughter's needs. She decided to would make a homemade one for Mackenzie as well. When it was done, she realized she wanted to share it with other Preemie Parents so that they as well, will have a place to put all of their emotions and milestones. "My goal was to make it as much like a regular baby book as possible in regards to style, with all the important aspects that make it specifically for preemies, with lots of room for journaling, while keeping it a reasonable price." Erin works as a Graphic Designer, is currently working on two children's books and adding more gift products to the Preemie line.
