There's little I hate to do more than weed our many gardens and Lord knows my husband and daughter despise doing so too. This stuff is amazing. Weed the gardens once or pay someone to do it for you, then, every 6 weeks or so sprinkle this stuff all over your gardens. It prevents new growth but will not harm plants or weeds already growing. Works like a charm! I never week anymore!

This stuff is great and for those who say it didn't work - remember this keeps seeds from germinating so anything already sprouting underground won't be affected. You will have to get rid of those weeds another way. But if you keep applying it - especially before the first thaw in the winter, when things often get started, it is incredibly effective.

I have used Preen for several years and it saves tons of time from weeding. It prevents new weeds from growing in the first place. If you have weeds already, you'll have to pull them since Preen prevents new weeds. It doesn't kill existing ones. I'd never go a season without it since I don't have any time to waste.

We were grateful to be able to get Preen in such a large quanitity from Amazon. We have used it for years in sections of our garden where we put mulch, simply because we mulch with our own compost and that often contains seeds which have not heated enough to kill them. Preen has helped us through the years to keep a lovely yard.

I have used PREEN for atleast 20 years even before its' popularity started. What I like best is that it's easy, fast, safe, saves time, and makes you look like a pro! I would never plant an area, have it picture perfect, and NOT protect with the one application of PREEN that last 3 months for virtually a weed free zone. It works on any surface from open soil, mulch,rocks to even rubber mulch. If you use it consistently after 1 year's growing season of application, you will get less than 5% of your weed population as compared to if you left it untreated. It costs so much less than it would to pay someone to weed or to use a weed killer ( not to mention less chemicals overall being used!) Who wants to or likes to weed?? I don't, never will, and do not have to with PREEN!!

This stuff works as advertised. I decided to toss about 1 cups worth into a wheelbarrow of mulch to see what happens if it is mixed into my mulch bed. So far so good! I shoveled about 4-6 scoops of mulch into a standard sized wheelbarrow, then 1 cups worth of the Preen Weed Preventer, then another 4-6 scoops of mulch. After dumping it out and raking it around to a nice level bed, I found that just by the spreading process, that the Preen was evenly dispersed throughout the mulch bed, and hardly noticeable amongst the black mulch. About 2 months after mulching, there hasn't been any weeds or grass at all! Years past, I have noticed a few varities of fungus that grows in the mulch throug the natural decay process, but this seems to have stopped that from happening also.

Now all I have to do is remove the random debris that falls in my mulch beds...nothing else. Great product, I'll be sure to use it in the future!



Edit: It has been over 2 months since using this product and it does live up to its name. After putting down 10 cubic yards of mulch, I have found maybe 2 or 3 weeds...that is all. All of the other vegetation continues to grow just fine. Still a 5 star product all the way.

Kept the weeds off my open areas for nearly a year, and a wet year at that which always grows more weeds. I should have re-applied it and I'm sure I'd have been better off but I had to see how long it would go. So now I've got some weeding to do but soon as I'm done the Preen is going back down!

I pulled all of the weeds out of my flower beds and then followed the directions on the bag. In less than a month, most of the weeds were back. This stuff did not work. I am very disappointed.

just bought 2 big bags of this crap at my local lowes. laid 1 bag of it. it rained that night and a few times since. all my broad leaf weeds are still as healthy as if i didn't put the preen weed crap down. i used bayer before and it was working by the 3rd day. never gonna get this again... what a waste of money. i'll go back to bayer brand it works. oh and roundup? isnt roundup suppose to be the killer of all plant killers? i just got a concentrate of roundup poison ivy/brush killer. completely covered a few brushes and lots of poison ivy. some of it is 'wilting' after 4-5 days.. i have a good feeling that the poison ivy is going to come back even stronger in the next couple of weeks. i've given up on roundup forever i think. its the same crap as this preen junk. ortho has poison ivy/brush killer that actually works. and roundup weed killer is crap too, for which i also got and sprayed a bunch of tall grass behind my house. i would not waste your $$$ on either this preen or roundup. i should write both of these brands a letter indicating what crap they have.
