Increasingly Hard to Find,

This review is from: Preferred Pro USB Kbd Business Black for U.s (Personal Computers)
This product is everything I want in a keyboard. It has a standard layout (well, plus the three extra "Windows keys") with none of the nonsensical mucking about seen on recent "ergonomic" keyboard designs. Excellent action, shallow but firm, with relatively little noise. Simple design with (thankfully) removable wrist-rest.
I'm tempted to order two more because it's so hard to find a proper keyboard these days.

Above-average keyboard but not the best key action.,

Keyboard's not bad. Looks good since it harks back to the days when there weren't all the silly multimedia keys (like volume, internet, etc). The logo also happens to be IBM which was surprising since IBM no longer sells PC's -- so the keyboard looks like the one in the picture.
I deducted one star because the keys are mushier than I'd like. Compared to the standard dell keyboards, this ibm keyboard's keys don't have as much of a snap to them. Additionally the keys are very quiet (as compared to the dell's), which may contribute the the perception of mushiness.

Good, standard design, stylishly understated, and I like the wrist rest. What I don't like is the space bar. I never realized this, but on many modern keyboards, the lowest row of keys is gradually tapered off, so that when your thumb hits the space bar, it's hitting a smooth surface rather than the 90-degree edge of the key. Not so with the IBM Preferred Pro. It's a small thing to complain about, but unfortunately it was a dealbreaker for me.

Keyboard was supposed to have the extended piece for the bottom of your hand to rest on but didnt. Others said their keyboard had IBM on it, mine didnt have the brand in the picture or IBM so it looks like they are just shipping random cheap keyboards.Dont trust AMAZON with this product unless you just need it for a CLI linux box like me!

Good but the 'Rohs Compliant, IBM Standard Layout, PS2 Keyboard' is a *TRUE* IBM keyboard of yore!,

As the previous reviewer said, this is an IBM classic keyboard. Kinda. Stupid "wrist-rest" is a separate piece and you can immediately dump it in trash as I did. Both ENTER keys are midnight blue not black (hard to tell from the pic). Does *NOT* work with a USB to PS/2 connector (connection must be USB). Not as heavy as a old fashioned IBM keyboard. Very quiet compared to my old DELL "Quiet Key" keyboard. My main complaint is that even with the legs/props extended in back (is 1/2 inch high in front & with extensions ~2 3/4 in back), the keyboard feels too flat to me (it's a lot like a Compaq keyboard). The "Rohs Compliant, IBM Standard Layout, PS2 Keyboard In Black" is MUCH more like the traditional large, heavy, click-y, IBM keyboard of yore (and I sooo much prefer it).
