This is my FAVORITE BABY BOOK!!!!! When I found out I was pregnant I was so excited I went out on a baby book shopping rampage. I bought books both new and used hoping to get an early attachment to my baby. My biggest complaint was they all seemed to be either month or trimester grouped as far as information. Thats fine..but I was getting tired of reading general information and answers to other women's questions instead really learning what I wanted to know..what was happening DAILY to ME.

I had never heard of anything that even discussed DAILY info until I found this book at the local library..after checking it out 3 times in a row I knew it was time to purchase it for myself. I would have paid the full price of $40, but thankfully amazon was cheaper.

It was EXACTLY what I wanted. The pictures are amazing and really give you a personal view of what your baby is actually doing. The one a day page set up is fantastic. It takes about 3 minutes to read and gives you the updates you're looking for (today your baby is growing its finger nails, yawned for the first time, can cry..etc) The BEST part of all is for the 1st trimester it has an EXACT SIZE picture at the end of each week so you know just how big your baby really is. Its mind boggling to watch it triple in size in just 1 month :)

To sum it all up..
This book is well worth the money. I will be buying a copy for anyone I know that gets pregnant in the furture and even my parents who are too far away to see me daily are having fun following along in their copy. My only extra advice is to get a clear plastic book cover as you will be using it so much the paper jacket gets a little worn out. :)

This is the best book in market. It explains every stage of pregnancy in detail. There are hardly any questions which is not been answered here.
It explains Pain management(like aqua therapy, meditation, hypnosys etc), birth complications, Risk of each procedure, Nutrition, What to expect each week etc.
Every page has High resolution ultrasound pictures of babies.
The book is definately worth its cost

I bought this book, along with the clasic "What to Expect When You're Expecting," and have really enjoyed seeing all of the pictures in this one. The information, however, is terrible. The first signal that it was sub-par in terms of information: the editing is terrible - spelling errors, incorrect grammar; not a good sign in a book that's providing information about a medical condition and allegedly written by a doctor.

That said, my husband and I are enjoying looking at the pictures (except for several completely unnecessary pictures of breasts in "info boxes" about topics other than breast changes), so it's not completely worthless. Would recommend this book for the pictures and "What to Expect..." for the information.

Because this takes a daily approach, at times it can be redundant. But on the other hand, it is a nice daily reading as you learn about your pregnancy. The pictures from ultrasounds or computer generated images really are one of my favorite things about it, especially as it goes along in the stages of development. Not the most thorough medical perspective, but I would buy it again!

I LOVE this book! I really like how the book begins on Day 1 of your menstrual cycle. Lost of visual resources throughout the whole book. I enjoy reading information daily about what is going on. Book is a hardback, well-made, good size book that is very well-organized. If you only get ONE book, this is the one to get!

Of all the pregnancy/baby books I have, this is the one that my husband and I seem to pull out the most. I love how things are broken into day-by-day sections. I can easily thumb through a couple days or so at at time and learn about what's going on right NOW in my body. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE all the pictures - but then again, it's from DK Publishing, who always have the best books with the best pictures.

This book is a bit on the expensive side, but it was well worth it to me. I wouldn't use this book as a reference book, per se, as the topics are all a bit spread out and difficult to find - but I highly suggest this as a book to keep on your nightstand and read each day with your husband. It's great at presenting relevant information to what's going on with your pregnancy depending on wherever you happen to be - and not bombarding you with a ton of overwhelming info all at the beginning before you need to know it (or, if you do want to know everything, you can just read the whole thing at once; I've already thumbed through most of it :))

I admit that I had no idea what to expect in my pregnancy before I got pregnant. Absolutely nothing! I had a few stories from friends and family members to go off of, but that was all. I purchased this book and each night, my husband and I would read a page from it. I liked that it basically just gave small snippets of information each day that correspond with how far along you are in your pregnancy.

There's no pressure to hurry up and read the whole book all at once and there aren't overwhelming gobs of information being thrown at you over the course of pages and pages. It's just brief insights about changes occurring in your body around that time, information on the development of your baby around that time, tips on how to manage potential problems, things to expect, advice on planning, dietary and exercise suggestions, etc.

I did feel like some of the information was possibly inaccurate (such as fetus size) and there were many times where I would say, "Didn't you already read this?" because some information is repetitive.

But if you're looking for a simple pregnancy book because you don't have the slightest clue about pregnancy, then I feel like this is a great book to have at your bedside to look at each night. It's especially great for people who simply don't have the time or patience to sit down and read those long drawn-out pregnancy books. I honestly didn't do much reading through the duration of my pregnancy, but I felt comfortable enough with my knowledge between this book, asking my doctor questions, going to a couple of childbirth classes, and independently researching things I felt were important to me. I didn't have to skim through loads and loads of information that did not apply to me or that I didn't feel was necessary to read.

This book is fantastic. Great pictures, highly informative, and a treat to read each day.

The day-by-day format is wonderful because not only is it encouraging, and calming, to have something new to read and look at each and every day of pregnancy (which can seem very long at times), but because it helps the mother-to-be keep track of *exactly* where she is at any given time (how many weeks and days, and how many days to go until the due date!).

The authors do an excellent job of remaining neutral and giving multiple perspectives on controversial topics, allowing mothers the freedom to form their own opinions.

Also, some of the in-utero photography is absolutely stunning. Definitely the best pregnancy book on the market.

As a newly pregnant woman, I want to buy every book, look at pictures all day, and see EXACTLY what is going on in my tummy every single day. This book is perfect! It is packed full of amazing pictures of the developement every single day! These arent sketchy little blob drawings, these are amazing photographs of the very tiniest details, in beautiful color and quality. I've never seen a book with so many fantastic images, and there is a page for each day! Love love love this book. Its the first thing I look at every single day.

This book is fantastic for both moms & dads. My husband and I both enjoy looking at the wonderful pictures and the day by day detail is great. I love that even though I was 7 weeks along at my first ultra sound our baby measured 6 weeks 2 days, so I was able to see exactly where our little guy was in his growth. I would reccomend this book for everyone's baby book collection.
