Dermitt McTaggert is a single father raising his 5 year old son Jack after his wife Alice died several years before. Dermitt and Alice had concieved Jack through IVF because of an earlier cancer scare. Alice and Dermitt also had made a embreyo of a girl, but before they could have her Alice died.
Dermitt is planning on getting rid of the girl embreyo, but then Alice's sister Lacey comes up with another plan. She can have the baby for Dermitt.
