Great Resource,

What a wonderful resource! The authors of this book clearly saw a need and the filled it. As a Clinical Psychologist I can say that there are many books out there about postpartum depression and far fewer resources for postpartum anxiety. It is not easy to write a book that takes current psychological research findings and puts it into a format that the accessible to everyone, but the authors have done this seamlessly. The book is full of easy to use checklists and worksheets and has information on both mild and more intense forms of anxiety. It walks the reader through the basics of relaxation skills and how to identify and challenge anxiety-inducing thoughts. The more specialized chapters, like the ones on post-partum post-traumatic stress, panic, and obsessive compulsive disorder will be particularly useful for those searching for a focused self-help worksheets in these areas. The best thing about this book that it is easy to use, research-based, and brief! What a great resource for busy moms who are experiencing post-partum anxiety!

I didn't need to spend $25 to read about very basic relaxation techniques like deep breathing, tensing and releasing muscles, and imagining myself on a warm sandy beach.

This was literally a lifesaver for me. When a pinched nerve in labor left me with constant headaches immediately following delivery, postpartum anxiety set in big time. Try going to counseling when you're a stay at home mom with no options for childcare! This book helped me get through the worst of it. Yes, some of the exercises are ones you can find on the web or whatnot, but that was a small portion of the book. It was just reassuring to know that what I was experiencing was fairly common and there are others who have dealt with this. I was to the point where I was strongly considering trying meds for my anxiety but this book helped me through and I didn't end up going there. Instead of spending time in counseling I was able to spend some time in physical therapy to manage the pain and as the pain finally went away so did the anxiety. I'd recommend this book to anyone struggling after childbirth.

This is the essential refresher for any pregnant or new parent that has ever had cognitive behavioral therapy. I like to remain on top of my OCD, so that it doesn't get on top of me, and this book was a great help. Even though I was prepared for my anxiety to peak after giving birth, and even though I also countered it with meds, this book was a *wonderful* help to keep my thoughts and coping strategies in order. Absolutely *great* CBT ideas for anxious parents (or parents-to-be).

So far I am only in the first few chapters but this book has already helped me alot. It has helped me understand what I go through better and helps me understand myself. Which in return I dont feel so alone. Dealing with anxiety can be hard but understanding helps me control it a bit and handle it better when I do have it. I would highly highly recommend this book to any women that is prego or has had a baby even if it was a few years ago, if you still have the anxiety this book will help. I am very grateful.
