About the Author

Hugh D. Melnick, M.D., is founder and director of one of the first independent, non-hospital-based infertility centers: Advanced Fertility Services in New York City. He is a leader in the field of infertility treatment and has helped thousands of couples conceive through the success-oriented approach. Dr. Melnick has specialized in infertility and reproductive endocrinology since 1974.

Nancy Intrator is a writer from Chappaqua, NY, who specializes in health and family-related topics. I was very disappointed in this book, it is one long infomercial for IVF (in vitro fertilization). The "prescription" is IVF, no matter what the cause of your infertility. I had hoped for some outside-the-box insights about things to try, but the only suggestion is pretty much "do IVF." And if you're not a good candidate for IVF with your own eggs, then do donor-egg IVF. That's pretty much all this book says.

A wonderful resouce for directing you through the maze of infertility. Well written at a level which through rich in content - is easily understood. I would highly recommend this book to anyone trying to get pregnant effectively and efficiently.
