This is a great book for people who like to keep track of their pregnancy one day at a time, like me. Books like "What to Expect When You're Expecting" are set up in a month-by-month format, but I am one who likes to keep tabs of things in smaller increments than that. Highly recommend!

This book is fantastic. I had been reading "What to Expect when you are Expecting" and it was making me very nervous. This is a great book that gives a very positive outlook of what is happening to both you and your baby every week. I love to read it with my husband as each week passing. It makes us feel like we are experiencing it together.

When I first went to the book store looking for pregnancy books, I left very very depresssed. Books like "What to expect when you are expecting" and the "Girlfriends' Guide" made me quite afraid. Pregnancy Week By Week shows all of the wonderful things about being pregnant. It shows concentrates on the development of your baby, which is what pregnancy is all about after all. It explains the changes that a woman can expect in her body, but does it in a way that is not so frightening as the "Girlfreinds' guide" "and What to expect when you are expecting" It also covers common complaints, but does it in a way so that the focus is still the developing baby...the discomforts of pregnancy are just incidental in this book. This is a great overview, but does not go very, very deeply into various important issues. If you want a very detailed book, look at Miriam Stoppard's "Conception, Pregnancy and Birth."

Good, positive book, but somewhat condescending in tone.,

I like the Week-by-Week aspect of this book, and it is exciting to read about and see what is going on at any given time with you and your baby. However, I found the tone of the book somewhat annoying, in that it was condescending - I feel it was written by the type of ObGyn who would like to be the one making all of the decisions for a pregnant woman. I found the pictures of the women in this book somewhat silly too - this book makes it look as if pregnant women have nine months to sit around looking pretty in a bathrobe or leotard. (It even tells about how you can "skillfully" apply your makeup during pregnancy - not high on my priorities!) I think this book is best if used as a supplement to a book such as Sheila Kitzinger's "The Complete Book of Pregnancy and Childbirth" which gives you enough knowledge to ask the right questions and make good choices for you, your developing baby, and your family.

Great for counting down to the birth!,

I bought this book early in my pregnancy and found it to be a nice suppliment to other, more detailed books that are available (like "What to Expect When You're Expecting"). This book doesn't have a huge amount of detailed pregancy advice. Nor did I find it very helpful as an organizer - there is only a very small space each day for notes. Plus the book is huge and not very portable, so I'm not sure how that part is meant to be used. However, I really enjoyed the book. It props up like a flip book, with one week on each page. For each week there is a description of what's going on with the baby (developments, weight, length) and the mom and a picture. My husband and I put the book in our bedroom and each week we would make a little ceremony of flipping the book to the next page and reading what was going on with the baby and me. It was our way of counting down to the birth of our son, and a very special way for us to share the pregnancy together. For that reason alone I highly recommend this book, especially in conjunction with a more detailed reference book.

This was given to me by a friend and I find it full of great info. I really like the pictures of the developing fetus and the information on the baby's growth. It's a great timeline reminder too!

Nice glossy pics and lots of space for writing but almost no useful information. Not to be used as a reference.

very basic information, just enough to help you understand what your pregnant body is going through, also great for your partner to read and understand whats happening as the baby develops step by step. some books about pregnancy can be overwhelming with information, and can sometimes scare the mother. this book is not like that, very informative with great tips. i really enjoy looking at each week as i go through it.

Great book to see where your child is developing, although the shipping was a little slow, wife and I were not so happy about that. Over all the book is really informative we are currently on our third child and with each child we still would read in this book. Worth the purchase on Amazon!
