Works but not a typical lap swimming suit,

This review is from: Prego Maternity Swimsuit (Misc.)
I've been using this suit for about 6 weeks now and it works alright. It is not a typical lap swimming suit. It does not provide very much back support--the straps in the back are not stitched together like a regular competitive swimming suit would be. I would say this is my first 'leisure' swimming suit that I've had in more than 20+ years; I usually only wear competitive swimming suits. So, this has a different fit to it if you're looking for a competitive style swimming suit. The suit fabric also has a texture to it. I'm assuming that it is designed to fit someone who is 9 months pregnant like all maternity swimming suits.
I purchased a large thinking it would be fine throughout the whole pregnancy and it will be, but I should have gone with a medium. My non-pregnancy size is a 34. A better choice of purchase would have been from swimoutlet.com. I had originally ordered one from there but then decided to go with this one. If you do purchase from swimoutlet, keep in mind the maternity suits there do run a little long (I should have gone with a medium from them too). The swimming suit fabric from swimoutlet was a typical swimming suit fabric that you would think of when thinking of a competitive suit. If this is the last or only pregnancy that you will be having, this suit will work but if you plan on swimming while pregnant with future pregnancies, go with the one from swimoutlet.

Baggy Maternity Suit,
By
This review is from: Prego Maternity Swimsuit (Misc.)
Pros: Probably the most comfortable piece of maternity apparel that I own.
Cons: Has absolutely no shape to it (picture a box with 5 holes cut out). Also, while I swim I can feel the drag that comes from pulling a parachute full of water behind me....but I guess I'm getting an extra workout from it!

Great Maternity Swimsuit,

I purchased this swimsuit early in my pregnancy when I couldn't wear my normal suit any more. I looked all over for a swimsuit that I could still swim laps in. I wore this suit throughout my entire pregnancy and it worked great!

Not like photo,

The suit is fine, but has unattractive ribbing that can't be seen in the photo. However, is well priced for maternity swimsuit. Also, comfortable and easy to get on, which matters a lot when you're big like a whale.

Fell apart in 3 months, awful customer service,

I bought this suit, paying a bit extra because it was made in the USA and presumably better quality than an imported suit. Despite following all the washing instructions and swimming only 2-3 times a week, in three months the suit began to disintegrate between the breasts and center of the rear end, becoming transluscent and unwearable. I had lots of trouble contacting Prego (I bought it through Tummy Style who did nothing to help me) but once I did, the rep was extremely unhelpful, implying that it was how I cared for the suit. I even mailed it to her to show her the damage (on my own dime) and got no response. Once I followed up, she still refused to even give me a replacement suit and/or prorate the three months of use I got and refund the difference. Nothing: No suit, no refund. In short, not good business and not a good quality suit! My old navy chinese made suit lasted the remainder of my pregnancy with no problems!

Very comfortable,

Although the suit isn't very attractive or flattering, I wanted a cheap, simple suit with shoulder straps rather than a halter strap (very uncomfortable). The suit is pretty much just very basic but very comfy. So if you're after style this isn't for you. Practicality & comfort are it's top points.

Easy to wear maternity suit,
This review is from: Prego Maternity Swimsuit (Misc.)
This suit has been perfect for me. I kept shoving myself into my old lap suit through 25 weeks and realized that I had to get something with more room. While I am really used to the speedo racer back style of suit, this suit is perfect for my pregnant body. I got the same size suit as I bought maternity clothes and it has plenty of room to grow as my belly grows, but the fabric doesn't hang.As other reviewers have said there is a waffle-like texture to suit that does not show-up in the picture, but I don't feel this impacts the suit, it just hides the extra fabric that will stretch with you. It is a lot more fabric than my speedo, but I don't think that has much impact on my laps, my belly has a lot more drag than the suit. Finally the straps are very comfortable and supportive and don't shift around as I swim. Bottom line it is a solid suit, comparably inexpensive, comfortable and effective.

Comfy, but lacks support,
This review is from: Prego Maternity Swimsuit (Misc.)
I teach water aerobics and swim lessons on a weekly basis. I swim and participate in water aerobics on my own as well. This suit is very comfortable, but it lacks breast support. There is a thin shelf bra, but it doesn't do much. If it weren't for the very thin built-in bra, there would be no support. I carry low and find it a little baggy between my belly and breasts. I would not purchase this garment for water aerobics. The suit is great for teaching swim lessons and ok for lap swimming.

This was a great swimsuit! I used for the 2nd and 3rd trimester all the time. Being pregnant through the winter it was hard to find a maternity swimsuit. (indoor pools do exist!!) This was the only maternity suit I could find and was very pleased with the fit.
