About the Author
Timothy Darvill is Professor of Archaeology at Bournemouth University, and a Fellow of theSociety of Antiquaries. He has held posts at Western Archaeological Trust, the Council for British Archaeology, the Commi ee for Archaeology in Gloucestershire, the Council of the National Trust, and the Institute of Field Archaeologists. He is currently chairman of the board of directors of Cotswold Archaeology and has directed excavations in the Cotswolds. He is the author of numerous books on archaeology. In the 2010 Queen's Birthday Honours he was appointed OBE.
