"I would like to let you know that I really love using your "Pre-hospital Emergency Care" EMT-B Textbook for our EMT-B classes! I have used this text for approximately 5 years now with great results. I have also referred this book to other instructors over the past few years. Today I met with an Education Instructor Group here in Missouri and was not so surprised to hear that they too are switching from their current textbook to the Pre-hospital Emergency Care, Mistovich textbook. I say congratulations to you, your staff, the editors and publishers in producing and distributing such a great textbook." George Miller, Clinical Educator/TC Coordinator, Center for Education & Development/EMS Programs
Prehospital Emergency Care, seventh edition, is the book for serious EMT-Bs who want to go above and beyond the D.O.T. requirements. Long considered the most complete resource for EMT-B training, this best-selling, student-friendly text contains clear, step-by-step explanations of patient conditions, assessment, and treatment. The material is comprehensive, stimulating, and challenging enough to prepare and equip students for real on-the-job situations. Revised and thoroughly updated, the new Seventh Edition contains the most recent American Heart Association guidelines.

No workbook included!,
This review is from: Prehospital Emergency Care (Paperback)
This item is advertised as a package, however, there is no workbook! They need to alter the title of their ad if it doesn't include what they say it does!!!!

Save money and buy this rather than the new edition,

We used the newer edition of this book for my EMT-B class, but I wanted to save money so I bought this one instead. Most of the info is exactly the same, there are just older pictures. My class didn't use our book very much, so it didn't matter that mine had different page numbers and stuff. Ask your teacher first, but I would strongly strongly recommend getting this edition to save yourself a lot of money.

Don't get the old edition,

This review is from: Prehospital Emergency Care, Seventh Edition (Paperback)
Unless you're really strapped for cash and can take a look at a copy of the latest edition I wouldn't recommend purchasing the 7th edition of this book for your EMT class. The chapters are all different, from what I can tell most of the content is the same (though, there are some differences where things are placed in the chapters), but almost all the chapter numbers are different from the new edition. My instructor has us read a couple of chapters every week, so what I had to do was take pictures of the table of contents from a new edition and match it up with the old edition to figure out what I'm supposed to read. If you don't mind doing this, go for it, you'll save yourself a bunch of money. For me though, school is enough work, I don't think I'll be ordering old text books anymore.
