Awesome read into the mind of a U.S. Secret Service Agent
committed to preserve the interests of America.Especially, enjoyed the details of Agent Careys travels abroad and measures taken to complete the field assignments. The childhood flashbacks were amusing and would enable the reader to also ponder about their own childhood memories and how we relate them in our own daily experiences.Bravo, Mr Sample! I hope that there will be more books to follow!

An Intriguing Look Inside the US Secret Service,
By
This review is from: Prelude to Danger (Hardcover)
Prelude to Danger is an intriguing look inside the difficult and complex world of the U.S. Secret Service. Through his main character, Agent Gene Carey, Mr. Sample shows readers the stress and challenges faces everyday by these silent professionals charged with keeping our Presidency safe from harm. Mr. Sample also weaves tidbits of Presidential history into the story that could never be found in any history books. This story brings an often overlooked Law Enforcement Agency to the forefront and highlights it's commitment to protecting this country. Great Job William!!

Review: Prelude to Danger,

This review is from: Prelude to Danger (Hardcover)
Fascinating and thoughtful vignettes that work together as a short novel - a good mix of exciting adventure and nostalgia/memory that illustrate how a gentle past and family connections were instrumental in making the main character a good Secret Service agent capable of handling danger and intrigue in a much more uncertain present. I would give 5 stars but I wish it had been longer and more of the agent/government aspects had been explained in more detail.
