This book tell the story of the space societies from their humble and modest beginnings until the big nation-players took over and the independence and chaotic systems of rocket design were replaced by the big nations. Until that time it was the area of the enlightened amateur (and some not so!).

There is a wealth of information here. There are a few technical mistakes and editorial slips (if you need a rundown just email me). For anyone wanting to know about how this whole space thing got started this is the bible.
