4.0 out of 5 stars Fascinating examination of Ted Shackley and company..., August 11, 2011

This review is from: Prelude to Terror: Edwin P. Wilson and the Legacy of America's Private Intelligence Network (Paperback)
This is a fascinating examination of a splinter group of CIA operatives who were fired from the Agency and continued to use their CIA connections to back the Iran - Contra operation, the October Surprise, and build a conduit to the Saudis and the ultra-conservative religious strain of Islam that spawned today's terror organizations. Ted Schackley, of Miami Station's JMWAVE operation, is revealed as far more influential than is often thought. An interesting book for intelligence buffs; Trento stirs many pots here.
