The Premier sure-fit harness is far superior to standard canine harnesses. It adjusts in five different places for a custom fit, and the metal hardware is less prone to slip thanks to Premier's proprietary design. The Amazon description (as of March 2009) suggests that the "large" is a 3/4" harness fitting a girth of 22-30". This is wrong. From Premier's web site, the large is 1" with a girth range of 28-40". Note that the girth is the circumference measured around your dog's chest just behind the front shoulders.

I have a shepherd-rottie mix with a girth of exactly 30", so I was expecting a harness that would barely fit or possibly be too small. The 28-40" large does fit my dog, barely in the other direction--it is almost too big, but it does fit whereas the medium (22-30" girth) which fits my smaller dog is too tight around the larger dog's chest.

Another reviewer for the medium-size version of this harness gave a negative review because her dogs chew the harnesses, destroying them. If your dog handles a nylon chest harness of a different design, then this one will work very well for you as long as it fits your dog. My dog is almost exactly between sizes yet the large 1" (28-40" girth) harness seems to be holding tight whereas other models always slip and become loose on her. Overall, it is an excellent design, and I would purchase it again in the future, probably after several years of wear-and-tear.

Once adjusted, this harness is easy to put on and works very well for my terrier. I really like the simple design.

This harness is so much easier to put on my pooch than the buckle type. Just slip over the head, and fasten on each side.

I have a Welsh Corgi that seems to chew through every harness we have bought for her. Yep, this one lasted almost 30 minutes. If you have a dog that likes to chew I don't recommend this one. It is made well and looks nice but not worth the money when they only last a few minutes.
