Kitty Harness,
By
This review is from: Premier Pet Come with me Kitty Harness Large Royal Blue (Misc.)
I was thrilled to get the Kitty Harness and be able to get our 2 year old tom out of the house. I followed the instructions and he accepted the harness without a problem and on the second day I took him outside. We did this for three more consecutive days without incident because the harness appeared to work as advertised. On the fourth day, we had been outside about 30 minutes when something spooked him and he lunged stretching the leash to full length and he squirmed half way out of the harness. Before I could catch him, he lunged again and got free. That was three weeks ago and we have not seen him since. If you purchase this item, I suggest you adjust it to near strangling tightness.

Excellent! We live on a busy road, and my Maine Coons are always trying to sneak outside. This is a great product. They are large cats and powerful, yet this leash can hold them. They wait by the door and get vewry excited when I pull down the "Come with me Kitty" leashes. The male nags me all day until it is time for "walkies". It is a neighborhood oddity though, walking a giant cat

The Talk of The Town,
By Ellen. Godfrey "Dixie Witch 13" (Birmingham, AL USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Premier Pet Come with me Kitty Harness Large Electric Lime (Misc.)
We bought this for our cat when he was a couple of months old and we all love it. The first time we put the harness on him, he did resist. But once he got used to it, he was okay. Next we connected the leash and took him outside. Remember, cats are different than dogs so you have to be patient. We coaxed him along using a long string. Now we take him for walks through our town, to the playground where he can slide down the slide. He has truly become the talk of the town and has even "stopped traffic" literally as people stop and back up to get a second look. No one can believe that a cat will walk on a leash. The leash is a bit short, but we simply attach our dog's leash to it if we want to let the cat explore the yard while we do yard work. It's great. The harness really supports the cat's breastbone in case they jump off something higher than the leash is long. If you use the harness and leash to "tie out" your cat, for your own peace of mind and the safety of your pet, never leave your cat unattended.

I'm glad I bought this particular harness/leash set for my kitten (he's one-eyed and I can't leave him to wander outside on his own)for several reasons. The harness itself seems to be very comfortable to my kitten (no single collar around the neck to choke him when he gets excited and tries to run) and it's adjustable so it will fit him for a good while. I also like the bungee-style leash...he can run (just not too far!) and jump and the leash has enough give to it so he doesn't get strangled or jerked to a sudden stop. It's a little difficult to put on at first if you have a cat in the "chewing" stage but once they get used to it, it's easier to get it on and off.

Great product!,
By thatlo (Arizona, USA) - See all my reviews So I got online in search of a better harness and came across the Gentle Leader Come With Me Kitty harness and leash set. It was the only one I found that didn't rely on coming across the cats neck for control. Instead it rests on her shoulders, and the leash gives some resistance before really pulling on her. She loves it! She can chase after what ever she wants and the leash gives me enough time to catch up with her before pulling, and even when I can't she never gets choked anymore. Just softly tugged to a halt by her shoulders, looking back at me a little puzzled instead of angry or in pain. I HIGHLY recommend this harness and leash combo for anyone who walks their cat.

I have been using this daily for about a week. My 6 year old cat had never been outside. I started with the sternum slide too low, and one leg got out; but now we have gotten the hang of it. My cat is 10 lbs, and I thought the medium was too small; but actually, it's perfect and I adjust the back slide pretty tightly. She now asks to go out, but when I get out the harness, she goes under the coffee table. She may never stick her head through (still growls while I get it on her.) However, once outside, she forgets all about it and is exploring her world. One day, she tried to back away from the dragging leash and was alarmed, but she's now pretty cool with it. I let her loose in a fenced yard, and otherwise, I follow her. I don't "walk" her the way I walk a dog, and I don't think that would ever work. I use it for her pleasure and safety, and she does her thing while I do yard work and watch. She absolutely loves being outdoors (I keep her collar and tags on, just in case.) She has now started thinking about slipping outdoors when I go out the door, so be prepared to slide and holler.

My kitten LOVED being able to explore the deck with this on, and he really didn't seem to mind the way it felt. He quickly outgrew it though (when he was 5 months, just over 5.5 pounds, it wouldn't buckle around him at all), so I would recommend getting the Medium even if you have a small kitten.

We got two of these for our two kitties. We don't usually take them outside, as they are fraidy cats and outside scares them. We decided to take them on a summer road trip though and knew we needed the harnesses to help keep them safe. They are easy to put on and stayed put nicely when properly adjusted. An experience with another harness where one of the cats slipped out of it and escaped leading to an hour frantically searching, had me extra sensitive to find a product that fit securely and wasn't uncomfortable. Both cats wore the harnesses for 10 hour days in the car and slept soundly and comfortably in them. I truly recommend these harnesses for all kitties who wish to explore life outside occasionally.

Great Product!! Much Better than the Competition!!!,

I bought this to replace a standard type harness that my cat had outgrown. This is very good quality, and the design is very ingenious. It's much less restricting that the one we had. I can get it pretty snug - for safety - without it bothering my cat. She still spooks sometimes, and the security of the leash and harness maeks it possible to take her out of my apartment. I've gotten a retracting leash(cat strength) which gives her more freedom to move than the leash that comes with the harness. I find the cat panics less when she can move more freely.

Best Kitty Harness and Leash!,

This review is from: Premier Pet Come with me Kitty Harness Medium Electric Lime (Misc.)
This is a great product for a kitty who would normally prefer to be dragged rather than to be walked. I don't feel like I am choking her and she seems to appreciate being able to lean against the elastic leash and to understand that when she relaxes she can lessen the pressure. It has worked very well. Normally, this kitty is very low profile when she is outdoors. With this harness and leash, she is a bit more confident and excited to go explore. Good product. Only difficulty with it would be that since she has long fur the clips pose a slight challenge to ensure closure without pulling her fur. However, it is much, much easier to use with these clips with her long fur than it is with the buckles on other harnesses.
