5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent presentation of the first manifesto of the avant-g, June 25, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Le Premier Manifeste Du Futurisme (French Edition) (Hardcover)
This is an excellent presentation of the first manifesto of Futurism. The study is based on the original manuscript which was made available to Dr. de Villers by Mrs Marinetti herself. The book presents the facsimile text and an analysis of each correction made by F.T.Marinetti in November 1908. The original text is followed by the translations in English, Russian, German, and Spanish. The volume contains also some original notes of Marinetti pertaining to the readings he made while a student in Genova. A new edition of this book will appear in 1999 in an English-Italian version published on the 90th anniversary of the publication of this seminal text in the Figaro in Paris on February 20, 1909. The publisher of this new edition is INTRAMEDIA INTERNATIONAL in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
