Product Description

Size: 10-Year Softener + Filter

Healthy, clean, great-tasting water from every tap in your home by removing up to 97% of the chlorine in regular tap water and reducing harmful water contaminants such as pesticides, herbicides, rust, silt, sediment, water soluble metals and industrial solvents for 10 years or one million gallons with the Premium Rhino Whole House Filter. Plus, effective eco-friendly scale prevention for the entire house without the use of chemicals or salt. Our dual tank SimplySoft salt-free softener is designed to hook up seamlessly with your whole house water filter system. Protect your home appliances and plumbing by reducing the adverse effects of excess iron and scale. Be free of scale, stains and spots on faucets, shower heads and glassware. Never lug around heavy bags of salt again. Unlike traditional salt-based softeners, SimplySoft does not require salt, electricity or drainage for wastewater. More than just a softener, Aquasana SimplySoft uses innovative Nucleation Assisted Crystallization (NAC) softening technology to naturally condition your water without the use of added sodium. NAC technology alters the structure of the hard minerals into a crystal structure that prevents the minerals from binding and forming scale build-up and is proven to reduce scale by up to 99.6%. Unlike salt-based water softeners, Aquasana SimplySoft NAC technology will not demineralize your water nor will it negatively affect the environment by adding excessive amounts of sodium into our communal water system.

Size Name: 3-Year Filter
I had the Rhino EQ-300 installed a couple of years ago and the unit has been working flawlessly ever since. The water taste is excellent. Our water is now odorless. I would recommend this product to anyone wants to improve their water quality. I follow the manufacturers recommendation to change the pre-unit Filter candles once every 6 months. This does seem necessary as there is quite a bit of muck that gets trapped by the pre-filter candles. Make sure you have spare o-rings and silicon grease when you buy the unit. Check to ensure that the pre-unit's filter housing's o-ring properly installed or else you could end up with a leak. My unit runs perfectly dry and drip free. While replacing the filter candles (every 6 months), you would need to turn off the inlet valve and turn on an the taps in you home ( only cold water taps!!) to empty the water pipes or else the back-pressure will prevent you from opening the filter unit. Even if you did manage to open it, you could end up with very wet floors! The unit is installed in my garage where my main water inlet was accessible. You may need to replace your pressure main valve just to ensure the input water pressure is not too high. You could loose some water pressure in your showers when you install the unit.

Size Name: 3-Year Filter
Our plumber made fun of us when we asked him to install this system a few years ago. A couple days later, he was bringing in bottles to fill because the water tasted so good. He subsequently installed one in his house.

There is great water pressure with this system, the water tastes amazing and we're extending the lives of our appliances. Clothes don't have to deal with all the mineral deposits, the water heater gets filtered water and there's no occasional stinky smell in the shower.

Granted, for the price, I should be saying all this. You get what you pay for. This product delivers.

Size Name: 3-Year Filter Verified Purchase
After placing my order, I did receive a call from Rhino to confirm the size of my home and if this was going to be the right model for my needs.

I have uploaded 2 pics of the installation and 2 pictures of the pre-filter after 3 months.

We installed this almost 2 years ago (Dec 2010) with municipal water supply for our new home (June 2010). We called a plumber and had them install the unit (using copper pipe and not the included plastic hardware).

My wife was diagnosed with Interstitial cystitis (IC) (is a painful condition due to inflammation of the tissues of the bladder wall) The cause is unknown. She was in chronic pain and the doctors could offer little help, even after years of medical appointments.

She started talking about the water could be causing her IC symptoms as we had recently moved north of Atlanta and her IC symptoms started. She had IC about 10 years ago, and sure enough, it was after we made a move to a different location. In Florida, no problems, in Atlanta...IC symptoms.

Before the filter, we had mold in the toilets, in the washer, in the faucets and dark rings after boiling water on the stove.

I was not convinced a home water filter would solve anything, but my wife kept working me over until I took action. I was willing to try anything at this point.

After a few weeks of installation, her IC symptoms started to improve. I can't say a whole home water filter is a cure for IC, but it did work for my wife.

Just recently (Sept 2012), my wife started working on me again, as the mold was less, there was still mold in the various places as before.

We removed the toilet tank lid, and there was mold in the toilet tank.

We then purchased the Trojan UVMax Model D4 Plus Whole House UV Water System 9 gpm.

Now, looks like my wife is now satisfied we have tackled our water problems for now.

Size Name: 10 Year CitySoft Filter
Bought the more expensive system with 1,000,000 gallon capability. It provides some PEX fitting adapters and ball valves. But the ball valves and adapters need crimp fitting, which need special tool to crimp. The whole thing is not difficult to install at all. But they put the requirement to have professional plumber for warranty, to set you in a trap. Once you spend a few hundred dollar for installation and might need a bit more to remove, you will have a hard time deciding if you want to return or not.

Whole system has 3/4" fitting, which is smaller than most house main pipes. I didn't test water pressure. But it for sure will affect it. My house is 1", which was built 2001. My friend's new house has 1 1/4".

The water does taste better as a result of active carbon in the blue tank taking the chlorine and odor. But if you spend 100 for a big blue cartridge with active carbon filter, you can get same result. Changing the filter every 6-12 months gives you more promising results. The simplesoft is totally useless. They gave fancy explanation that the Ca and Mg are somehow bounded by their stuff and would be less likely sticking to the pipe and appliance. However, you have no way to see the difference or prove it. The water spots are still everywhere in the shower room and on the dishes.

I was trying to search for some REAL review online, but didn't find any. Most searches link to their own site. I went to couple forums asking for feedback and heard nothing good. They just use the high profit margin making up a good image on the internet. Their shower head filter might worth the price. But definitely not this POE (point of entry) system.

Anyway, after one month, I returned the whole system. One star for the free return shipping and full refund.

After this I went with more traditional salt-based water treatment system for half of the cost. Plumbing is no big deal for me. Everything works perfect.
