I purchased this product sight-unseen as I had a similar case for my T-Mobile Sidekick III and really liked it. What arrived was a nicely-packaged and beautiful case. The problem is... it was OBVIOUSLY not designed for the Apple iPhone. It was too wide by far and the iPhone rattles around, although it does fit top to bottom.

Turns out, it appeared to be a recycled Sidekick III case anyway, so I put that device into it until such time as I end my relationship with T-Mobile.

So overall: Nice case. But not for the iPhone.

I went through 3 cases from the att store. They replaced the cases under warranty but I didn't want to see my investment being dropped on the concrete of a chicago sidewalk. So i opted for one of these cases. Its been 2 months and the thing doesn't show the least bit of wear. Its built pretty sturdy and it works how a cell phone case should work. I recommend this buy. And my iphone fits snug inside of this case.

Don't buy this Case if you have iPhone. I have an iPhone (Not 3G). I have used my iPhone for almost two years in a similar case with a magnetic closing cover and never had a problem. As soon as I started using this case, I received an error message saying that I had to "Restore My iPhone" and the phone and internet were dead. All other non-web based apps worked. I thought my phone had seen its last days. I restored my phone, it worked fine as long as I didn't put it in the case. I put it in the case and got the same error message. I tried Restoring with no apps and no sync. Phone worked fine. Put it in the case. Within 5 minutes the "Restore iPhone" message appeared again. This time I just restarted the phone and kept it out of the case. Worked fine for hours. Put it back in the case, "Restore iPhone" appeared again within minutes. I purchased another case and have been using for days now with no problem. I guess the magnets are too strong and interfere with the iPhone. If not for this critical issue, nice case.

Sure, the case offers no little slot, for instance, for charging the iPhone 3GS, which you might want to do if you were driving your car and had the case hooked to your belt. But, importantly, it does fasten to one's belt and hold the expensive and precious iPhone securely--and I wouldn't want to have it fall out of my jacket pocket and hit the pavement, as happened frighteningly often to my Blackberry--particularly when I was climbing into or exiting my car.

With practice I've learned to hook the case (it has loops for a belt but also a hook) it to my sweat pants for gym workouts and to run the cord of my earbuds through an opening, so that I can vigorously pump the recumbent bike or walk the treadmill and listen to the the music stored on my iPhone.

It does take some time for the case to loosen enough for the iPhone to slide in and out readily.

Given that so many of the accessories for the iPhone are outrageously expensive, it's really a delight that the case is so cheap. I expect mine to last a year or so (I've had metal hooks, like the one the case comes with, eventually break). But with the price so low, I just went ahead and bought two.

I've given it a 4. That's including the speed at which it arrived. Props to the seller, but it's just a belt clip case.

Pros: As someone said, it's not built specifically for the iPhone. Someone above complained that the phone rattled around - with a hard case attached (you can never be too careful!) it fits securely. There is a cut-away on the bottom of the case so that you can push the phone out. The belt clip works well. I also haven't experienced the "magnet screws with my iPhone" issue mentioned above.

Cons: Not made specifically for an iPhone. It works for me because I'm using a hard case in addition. If you're looking for something more stylish, this isn't for you. If you hate hard cases (that cover the back and come with laminate for the touch screen) then this won't be for you. I'd recommend against using the "belt loops". Rather than being held on by a felt-covered metal plate, the belt loops are stitched into place. I don't trust that.

Summary: Inexpensive, bland, functional. Nothing special to see here but its working fine for me.

EDIT after using: The exposed corners bother me. I'm now using a different holster (From PCMICROSTORE) along with an SF Planet Apple iPhone 3G / iPhone 3GS Metal Case With Belt Clip - Black (without the belt clip - just the metal case... that clip sucks). So yes.

I was worried after reading some of the reviews, so I bought two cases from different vendors. They were cheap. Both were good quality (for the money). It had the tan inside, not like the recent cheaper looking picture uploaded now. The one I got from here (I think it was this one) was a little nicer since it had a bit of (fake?) leather on the side elastic as well. Also the most important thing is that it is a little wider than the other case. If I didn't have a silicone case, the other case would fit like a glove. I use an otterbox silicone sleeve (much better than the cheap ones) so this case fits perfect.

I ride a motorcycle and wanted a case for my iPhone that would not come unclipped. This inexpensive case was exactly what I wanted. I slides onto my belt and therefore cannot come unclipped. When I first got it, my iPhone was very tight and it took a few days of use for me to be able to slip it in and out of the case. I will order another when I wear this one out. I have had it almost 6 months and it still looks great.

I read a different review that said this case works with a hardshell case so I picked it up, luckily I didn't spend too much. It has the nicest belt buckle/clip I've seen on a case and a nice magnet clip, but it's made of very cheap material. When I pushed the iPhone down into it, the sides stretched more than they could handle and it ripped one of the corners about 90% of the way down. Apparently it's meant only for the device by itself. I'm still looking for a decent case that this will fit into. Maybe I'll take the advice of another reviewer and buy one of these in person.

Cheap but NOT worth the trouble. Advertised as fitting the iPhone, but it's not big enough. I did put a hard case on the iPhone for protection while it's out of the holster (who doesn't do this?), and once the hard case is on it, this holster is too small.

This cell phone case is ok but it does NOT fit the iPhone 3G/3GS with an otterbox defender case on it.
