Nice fit, but sticks too far out from belt., February 28, 2006
This review is from: Premium Leather Case with Ratcheting Clip for Motorola V300, V330 (Wireless Phone Accessory)
While the case itself is a nice fit, my wife and I ended up not using this because it sticks way too far out from our belts.

Sometimes you get what you pay for.., July 14, 2006
This review is from: Premium Leather Case with Ratcheting Clip for Motorola V300, V330 (Wireless Phone Accessory)
Got this because it was inexpensive. Turns out it's also cheap. As in "cheaply made". When I first fit it to my phone (a V300), I couldn't get the front cover piece to not wrinkle on the inside. A few months later, I noticed that the ratchet latch seemed loose. Upon closer inspection, it seems that the ratchet's cog experiences a large degree of play within the backpiece itself due to a combination of construction and normal wear and tear, to the point that when it should be locked in at a specific angle, it can rotate to the apparent lock points at the adjacent angles. This also results in occasionally finding that the phone has flipped open due to my bumping into something when the phone was more sideways than vertical (note: I prefer it to be locked at an angle as it's easier to grab and open quickly that way). And I've only had it since X-mas '05.
Also, the inside backing of the snaps on the back piece have worn off the silver finish where they contact the phone and the slight shifting of the phone in the case wore through the original blue "sticky" paint on the battery cover and face plate to the point that it has now peeled off completely, at least on the battery cover.
I'm not convinced that this is entirely the fault of this case, though. The original paint on the faceplate only peeled on the edges and, in an effort to make the faceplate look like the back, I actually tried to get the rest off by scraping it - first with my thumbnail, but also with a sharp knife (!) (I did try not to damage the plastic) - to no avail. Maybe if I keep it in this case longer it'll finish the job it started... ;)
Other than that, it's done its primary job (i.e. not dropping my phone) adequately.
