If it wasn't for this one annoying trait, I would have given this case a 5. Great for the money, exactly what I was looking for. However, when I used it my phone was acting up. It wouldn't turn on when I took it away from my head. Yet it worked fine out of the case. After some detective work, there is a sensor right above the ear speaker that tells the phone when it is up to someone's ear (so turn off the screen) or not (so allow screen to be turned on). This case goes directly over this sensor, meaning you can never turn on your screen when its in the case. I fixed it with a pair of scissors - cutting away the case over the sensor. But in my opinion, the manufacturer should have at very least tested it on an actual phone before selling it. So their rating drops down to a 1 from me.

Sensor didn't affect my phone (don't know why but works normal)
this is my 3rd flip leather case since my old 3G.

I drop more than 3 times on concrete floor(Garage, driveway, even concrete restroom floor) my old 3G still survive with similar leather case.
my friend broke his 3GS screen 3 times in 2 years without case.
lets see how many times he will break his new i4.

Other poster post most of pros but I like to mention one more for "No clip on back"
My old flip case(3G) has clip hock sticks out about 1/4 of inch.
I don't clip my iphone to belt.
Round plastic hock for clip keep bothering me in my pocket (especially in my shirt pocket)
But this one is flat and smooth on both side just like wallet.


Big Con to me

I've looking for Flip DOWN leather case, couldn't find one for i4, yet.
my old flip case for 3G was flip Down instead of flip up.
When I make call or do anything with screen, all I have to do was just open lid(flap) and let go.
flap just drop, hang and stay down.

This case (flip up), I have to hold flap with my thumb or finger to stay up (or hold to other side)
when I talk on phone to my ear, I look like one ear bunny.
(I usually use Bluetooth but...)
Also, when I take picture, flap blocks camera (it won't if it's flip down)
I could use flap as sound reflector when I whisper or talking in noisy place with flip down case.
(flap was right under your mouth if it's flip down)
But flip up, my flap works only spot sun shade or making someone smile (because I look funny) when I talking on phone.

I will buy flip "down" leather case again, if I will find one for i4.

Sorry, I have to correct my review.
It "does" affect for sensor.
I use bluetooth most of time.
I checked it with covering sensor area with my hand when I talking through bluetooth it didn't change anything.
But when I disconnect my bluetooth and put phone to my ear then back, screen still blank.
I used small chisel to punch it wider (higher).

I took a chance on an inexpensive case until the more expensive brands came to market for the iPhone4. Boy was I surprised when I tried it and actually liked it. It fits like a glove. There is absolutely no issue with it fitting or covering sensors. I highly recommend this case if you want a small case that protects the sides and covers the screen. It feels good in my pants pocket, and would do well in someones purse. On my iPhone3G, I didn't have a case that flip covered the screen; my keys used to scratch the film cover which was frustrating. I am glad I purchased this case and highly recommend it for the iPhone4.
