Premium-Lock Rug Pad 5' x 8' - Provides Extra Cushion, For All Hard Surfaces, Heavier and Thicker than Most Rug Pads

I bought two of these. One is on a hardwood floor -- it's working fine. The other was on a waxed Saltillo tile floor. There was some kind of chemical reaction between the wax (which was at least nine years old) and the pad, that made the pad stick to the floor. It took 6 hours of scrubbing with various solvents to get it mostly off, and there are still marks on the floor from it. I will probably need to resurface the floor to totally get rid of the marks. I don't remember seeing any warnings about this in the instructions -- but maybe I missed it.

I purchased two - one to use under a thin oriental rug that sits on a rough slate floor and the second one under a thick woven runner in a high traffic area that was constantly sliding on hardwood floor with its old pad. Both are great and I would definitely purchase again. The one that sits on the slate floor made a tremendous difference and I was actually surprised how well it padded the rug because the surface is SO uneven and the rug is very thin. I cut the other 5 x 8 in half and taped the two pieces together for the runner - it no longer slides so I am very happy I have purchased another type of premium pad from one of the big box stores (for about 50% more) and these are better.

This product works exactly as it should. My hardwood floors are protected, the rug doesn't slip, and it gives the rug a soft, cushy feeling. I'm very glad I bought this.

This rug pad gets the job done. The rug stays put. However, when I opened the package, there was a strong chemical smell. One day later, and the smell is still here. It's strong enough to give me a headache, and I rarely get headaches. I live in a city apt and have no outdoor space. This rug pad would be fine if I could keep it outside for a few days to get rid of the smell. Instead, I'll keep the windows cracked and hope the smell goes away soon.

This product does exactly what it's supposed to do. It locks down our 5x8 area rug, as well as our nice new couches! It was easy to cut to fit accordingly. We even used our leftover pieces to place under the couch legs to prevent the couches from sliding around. And, like others mentioned, it does come with a very strong chemical odor when first opened. We just aired it out over our stair railing and within a day or two, the smell was easily gone. It did not come in a pretty package, nor even in a box, which was very disappointing since it was delivered and left out in the elements until I got home from work. The packaging was just a plastic wrap.

This was a great rug mat solution for our living room. The only thing that was a bit tricky was getting it propery matched up/laid down underneath our 5x8 carpet. Since it was doing its job, it would sit down and plant itself without budging...and then the carpet wouldn't properly align at first. we ended up trimming the rug mat down a bit and it worked fine :) I'd definitely purchase this again for other rugs we may get.

After moving to an apartment with carpet and not hardwood floors where I was before, my living room rug would wrinkle and buckle! It looked so horrible so I was told that a pad under the rug would not only remove the wrinkle and buckles but also protect the quality of the rug. This latest pad I recieved is the Premium Hold Rug pad and it works specifically for rugs on carpet floors. And the difference has been amazing, and after consulting with the merchant I was able to get the correct pad for my problem.

I bought this for a rug runner on a hardwood floor. It was easy to cut to the right size. Works very well.

We ordered this pad to go under the new rug in the dining room. I misjudged the size pad we would need, but the pad itself is high quality, and I would consider it a good value.

Bought this padding for under the new area rug that I also bought on Amazon. Very good cushion and keeps the rug from slipping.
