Disappointing battery life,
This review is from: Premium Power Products 616-0183 Photo and 4th Generation Internal Battery for Ipod (Electronics)
I was really pleased about being able to replace my iPod's battery so easily, but after about ten months this battery started holding a charge for only a couple of hours use. I'm going to probably replace it with the same product but obviously I'm disappointed with my first experience with it.

iPod battery replacements are getting a bad wrap, but this one shouldn't. Another brand recommends disconnecting the hard drive cable, this one doesn't. This cable cannot take the stress of the disconnect. Just follow Premium Power Products instructions, be careful and you'll be fine. Premium Power Products only recommends disconnecting the red and black power cable. This is OK.
My iPod 4G is on its 3rd battery counting the original Apple battery.

I bought this to give my old iPod a second life, and it was worth the small cost. The kit includes good instructions and plastic tools to pry the iPod open. This was the hardest step... It took me an hour of squeezing and prying, wearing my fingers out, but I finally popped it open and followed the instructions and replaced the battery. Do NOT be tempted to use a metal tool like a screwdriver to open it because you will slip and put a big gouge your iPod. Now, a few weeks later, it's still holding a charge well and plays for a long time. UPDATE: It's now the last day of 2011 and this battery still works well. I don't use this iPod very much, but when I do the battery life is fine.
