I've applied many of these types of film before to various electronics such as iPhones, camera screens, etc, and some apply easily and some with great difficulty. This film took two tries, but fortunately came in a two pack, and succeeded on the second try. However, with similar films that I've applied, the edges (in this case, two), seem to retain pockets of air which can not be alleviated. I find this rather curious, as they are on the edges and could easily be pushed out if the plastic "stuck" to the surface of the tablet. This is not the first time this has occurred. The protector on my iPhone does the same thing, which is annoying, but is at least partially hidden by the case. At least the majority of the film is bubble-free. I don't understand this, as there is no dust under the surface, which is notorious for retaining bubbles, and the film is completely within the screen. Other than that, this film seems very durable and should hold up well.

My only other experience applying screen protectors was on my son's DS last year, and that is a much smaller screen and simple to apply. This one, on my Nexus 7, was a little trickier, but with patience and constant smoothing with the small cardboard as I applied it from top to bottom .... it went on OK. There are two TINY bubbles that I can't seem to get rid of, but they are not over the viewing screen, so not a big deal. Overall, I like the product.

First of all, this screen protector really is almost invisible. Most people who handle my Nexus 7 ask how I protect the screen, and they have to look very hard to see there is actually this thin film over it. However, it is within 1-2 millimeters the exact width of the screen itself, which is both good and bad. Good because this makes it even more difficult to notice the protector...when it has been aligned properly. However, because the bevel is slightly elevated relative to the surface of the screen, noticeable bubbles along the edges of the screen will be formed since the protector will never be able to lie flat on the screen if you accidentally overlap it onto the bevel. This is hard avoid because of just how close the size of the screen protector matches that of the screen itself. I ruined the first protector trying to realign it, and I ended up having to VERY carefully shave some off on my second attempt. But, it is now on with no bubbles and will probably last for the lifetime of my tablet, so no harm done in the end.

amFilm Premium Screen Protector Film Clear (Invisible) for Google Nexus 7 Tablet (2-Pack) -Retail Packing
We got this for my 9 year old daughters Nexus 7. It was easy to put on, very durable & easy to clean. The film is thicker yet doesn't impede her navigation of the tablet. Very satisfied.

I made a bags of the first one as it stuck to part of my hand and was ruined. The second try was better and it adhered well with a small amount of bubbles that were easy to rub out.

I've put on a bunch of screen protectors. I bought this one because it had many favorable reviews and it was cheap. I also could not find my preferred brand for my new Nexus 7 - ArmorSuit. I've since found ArmorSuit and am buying it to replace this one as soon as possible.

Putting on the screen protector is pretty straight-forward. You remove tab 1 and place the screen protector on the screen. Then press out the air pockets and remove tab 2. If you're careful, you probably won't end up with any dust spots under the protector. If you're smart, you apply a very diluted soap solution to the screen, which helps to push out any dust. I tried both dry and wet methods. Neither resulted in a perfect protector for me, though the second only has 2 dust spots.

Worse, this screen protector is very thin and scratches easily. So you'll have to replace it soon. Don't use the tool after removing tab 2! It will scratch the protector up horribly.

It does the job it's supposed to do - protects the screen from scratches - so I give it 3 stars. But there are better solutions out there for not much more money that will do a better job.

This seems like a good screen protector, but I could never get it on without some dust trapped under it and causing air bubbles, but I won't knock off a star for something that is my fault.

The Google Nexus 7 gets used by everyone in our house including a two year old. We purchased the amFilm protective screen and a silicone jelly skin because the Nexus has a glass sreen which makes it very fragile. It has been in use for a month and no issues. I recommend this product to anyone with kids.
