Nice protective cover,

I had originally bought a cover that I can slide my Nook into when I travel, but realized I wanted a cover to protect it when I'm just carrying it around the house. I read the reviews for the ones on the Barnes and Noble site, which complained heavily about dust and fur sticking to the cover, and decided against those. This cover does NOT have that problem.
This silicone cover is thicker, providing a good cushion in case you accidentally drop your Nook. It also provides a little bit of grip, so that it doesn't slide easily on a counter or smooth surface. It does NOT get nasty and dirty like some silicone covers can. I bought this in clear, because I had also previously bought a pretty skin from DecalGirl for my Nook. The skin is great for protecting it from scratches, but it provides no protection from other issues like droppage. Despite the word CLEAR in the title of this product, this is more of a cloudy sheer white. My skin shows through, but not clearly. I'm ok with that. It shows enough to make the nook prettier, so that the cover doesn't look too plain. I also bought a new neoprene type pouch to hold it in for travelling (to protect the screens a bit more), as this is too thick to fit in the previous slide-in case. It was a bit of a struggle to get the cover on, but it fits snuggly. The page turning buttons have a raised bump, so you can easily feel where they are. The top button takes a bit of getting used to, as you get comfortable with where to press to turn it on. The case does not hinder your ability to plug it in to the power cord or headphone jack. All in all, I'm pleased with my purchase. I just wish it were a little clearer in color. You will also still want to buy a screen protector, as this does not cover the screen at all from scratches.

After reading a couple of positive reviews, I decided to purchase this for the low, low price of $6. Honestly, I can't convey my disappointment enough--it doesn't fit on the Nook snugly (the pieces that go over the bezel are pretty loose) and it's a total lint magnet. Lint just sticks to the silicon and it's an absolute pain to remove it. After having it for a couple of weeks, I ended up returning it mainly because of the fit, although the whole lint issue was also pretty bothersome.
I would suggest taking a look at the Skque Nook hard case--it's a snap-on clear case that does a nice job of protecting the Nook and it's built to fit, so there are never any issues with lint (it's plastic) or it going tightly around the Nook.

Great IF you buy from the right seller,
This review is from: Premium Clear Soft Gel Silicone Skin for the Nook, Barnes and Nobles Electronic eBook Reader Case Cover (Electronics)
I have ordered 2 of these now - one for my Nook and one for my husband's Nook. I ordered the one for my husband's Nook from CE Compass and received a thick silicone skin which fits tightly and well on the Nook. I ordered the one for my Nook from Happy Zone - and received a very thin silicone skin which doesn't fit tightly. BOTH were listed under the same item description. BOTH orders say that the manufacturer is Luxmo. Don't believe the "they're all the same" item description which rotates the seller listed. The only difference in the orders I placed for my silicone skin and my husband's was the seller fulfilling the order. Be careful. I don't know any way to know this detail in advance. All I can tell you for sure is that the one from CE Compass fits well and is a thick skin; the one from Happy Zone is a thin skin that does not fit tightly.
As it turned out, the difference in skins was good for us. My Nook is in a JavoEdge leather case without a lot of extra room - I couldn't get my Nook in the case with the thicker silicone skin my husband has. My husband has a Monster Bundle synthetic leather case with plenty of room for the thicker silicone skin. Oh, well. Double-sided tape works well to secure the thinner skin in place. We ordered black silicone and both like the contrast around the reading surface. Also, it look good in a black case - like a classy day planner. I have seen complaints about the silicone skins attracting lint. They do have that problem to some extent - but I think some of the criticism is unrealistic. It's silicone - it won't repeal lint or dust, but you can sure clean it easily. We have two long-haired cats in the house and lots of cat hair - we can keep or Nooks looking good without that much work.

Fits like a glove, custom indentations for button pushing. At B&N you'd be out $40 for this. Perfect thickness for shock resistance without being to clunky. A++

very cheap product but does not worth the money.
The protection is very loose so the dirt can get into anyway. It was very cheap so I gave it a shot, but i did not make a smart choice. I decided then to spend for another protection http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0035W7LYS/ref=ox_ya_os_product which turns out to be much better.

I love this. I had a hard cover which I purchased when I bought my Nook (for $30) and the elastic bands wore out within the year!!! This fits my First Edition Nook perfectly. It is more of a frosted clear, which is fine. It is a wonderful product and the price was equally as wonderful.

I bought this thinking that it would do what it says; which is COVER/Protect the Nook. WRONG! It doesn't even fit!! So, if it doesn't fit the Nook how is it going to protect it? HORRIBLE! I will return as soon as possible and spend my money on something much better, regardless if its more in price.

I bought this silicone skin because I am afraid of dropping and damaging my Nook! I do wish it were a little more snug. The edges are loose to accomodate the buttons, but I think they could have done a better job with that as it is a little too flappy. Maybe that's why it is so cheap.
Overall, good buy. When I have my Nook out of its case, I feel some comfort knowing that if it gets dropped, it has a little protection. Also, because it grips well, there is less chance of a fall!
