NLT is awesome. I finally found a Bible that speaks my language, because of this it is easy to read. I still find it necessary to look up scriptures from other Bibles as to get more of an understanding of God's Truth, but for easy to read teaching, I would highly recommend this. It is also very sharp looking, has 2 attached bookmarks (for lack of a better word, stringy things that hold your place),good size print and throughout the chapters, it has a heading about what the message is.

After looking for a Bible locally two or three times, I decided to go online. After seeing Bibles listed in several different sites, I remembered my satisfaction with that site, also my sister's favorite shopping experiences. I clicked on Amazon.com and found several Bibles with the New Living Translation and chose the Large Print volume. It arrived promptly and I find it to my liking. It is a larger print, but not extremely large. It has flexible back and front covers. It is comfortable to carry when the occasion presents itself and convenient to use in the home.

This is a BEAUTIFUL bible...the faux leather is so real looking you can almost smell the leather.

The print is pleasingly large, although not the largest on the market. However, because it's not huge print the bible itself is not cumbersome.

I bought this as a gift for my mother-in-law for Christmas and was very pleased at its beauty and price.

I bought this bible to replace the one that I had.It is a REALLY nice bible.It is an extremely soft leather like binding.With a good Dictionary/Concordance and a lot of footnote refrences.This book it perfect for reading and
reference,but it is extremely light only about 1" thick . It is note the largest print I have seen but is a comforable size for easy reading.I love this Bible,very light and slim with beautiful gilded pages.would recommend
to any one that is looking for a light weigh bible for every day reading.

I spent a long time in consideration of a new translation to replace my twenty year old NIV and finally settled on the NLT slimline reference edition in large print. I've been very happy and contented with my choice.

My main consideration for changing translations in the first place was the desire for a fresh rendering of the scriptures. I wrestled over the choice between several translations (NASB, NKJV, ESV, NLT) uncertain if I should go the more "scholarly" route and get a more literal translation or go "layman" with a more dynamically equivalent translation. I couldn't tell you how many critical reviews I read hoping to find the "perfect" translation. Ultimately, I resigned myself to the fact that there is no "perfect" translation. So I went back to the original criteria for selecting my old NIV: something for daily reading that was easy to understand, easy to handle and carry, and not cluttered up with a lot of notes--no matter how good. It was not to be a study Bible--just a daily reader for devotions. That selection was, as this new selection is, "perfect" for me.

My new NLT slimeline reference edition with large print is a fresh, easy to read translation. I really enjoy reading it. The references and notations are good without being overwhelming. It is set in an attractive serif typeface (thankfully NOT Times Roman!) at a point size that is easy on my middle-aged eyes. The two tone leather-like cover is attractive with a quality feel. When I hold it open on my lap or hold it open in my hand it lays flat and stays open. It has two ribbon page markers (although I'd prefer a single marker), a nice concordance based on the NLT, and several excellent color maps.

If your criteria for selecting a new Bible is similar to mine then this may be the "perfect" Bible for you as well.

This is the second edition of the New Living Translation of 2004, in large print. The print does not compare favourably with this edition in the original 1996 edition of the NLT, as the print is much smaller. I do like the 2 ribbon markers, and wish all Bibles had that. The newest editions of the Tu-Tone as of Spring, 2007, are the brown/tan; black/tan, and black/burgundy. These are very soft, and very handsome editions. The older ones of burgundy/gold stripe, blue/brown, and brown/alligator are thankfully being phased out. The longer I read the NLT2, the less infatuated I become; the translators miss a lot.. While no edition in the vernacular is perfect, this is accurate and readable. Those who prefer a literal translation(KJV, NKJV, NASB, HCSB, ESV, RSV) may not be happy, and those like myself who do not prefer inclusive language, may not be totally happy campers as well, but all-in-all, this is a very worthwhile edition to have, especially for those who prefer a larger print.

I am and have been a huge fan of the NLT, but I am disappointed in what I received... The add mistakenly states that this Bible is Leather Bound... The Bible I received has a "Leather Like" binding. I bought one before with a "Leather Like" binding and the binding came loose within the first year!

Contrary to description, this item is NOT leatherbound, but synthetic. I knew this so I was okay with it but if you are expecting leather you could be disappointed. I have owned 2 of these bibles previously and given them away to friends who were looking for an easy to read bible. They are nice size/weight and the print size is great. It's 'slimmed' down by not having many references and notes, but if you are wanting an uncluttered bible just for reading (not study) it's great...and the New Living Translation is wonderfully simple and beautiful.

This Bible had a quality leather cover and was bound well. I'm very pleased with the purchase. I ordered this translation of the Bible to give to several friends and family members after ordering the first one for myself. This translation if really pretty accurate compared to the RSV or NIV, but easy to read and understand.

I have been looking for a new bible and I could not find one that was the right size and print. This one is beautiful and I just love it.
