As a Physical Therapist, I knew I would need some extra support to stay on my feet helping patients. That was 4 pregnancies and 2 garments ago. Each of my Cradles have been loaned to friends, and wear well through 3 pregnancies!Once I hit 4 months pregnant, I really appreciate the support it gives me. Other, smaller straps just didn't contain my tummy, and I like that I can just slide it up or down as my activity requires. Occasionally I get impatient with the shoulder straps, but when I am REALLY big (after 30wks) the straps are indispensible.

Prenatal Cradle a Plus!,

My doctor told me to buy this because my back pain was so bad by my 3rd month that I couldn't stand upright without a pinching pain in my lower back. Within two days my back pain was at a tolerable level, and now I am even exercising! It is a little difficult to get on, and it shows with ALL of my maternity clothing, but it is worth it. I tightened two straps with safety pins so it is a lot more comfortable for my growing belly. This is the exact invention that I needed. With a toddler running around I couldn't be laying in bed all day. If I have any more children, I will definetly use this.

Excellent support - trick to hide straps,
By Jeff Cafmeyer (Columbus, OH United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Prenatal Cradle Original Medium (Health and Beauty)
(From the wife) My doctor recommended this prenatal cradle last year, but I opted for a cheaper store belt (which didn't help me). Pregnant again this year with an infant to care for, I chose to follow his suggestion. I love my cradle! I've worn it daily, 8-12 hours a day, throughout my third trimester. Without it, my belly feels heavy and strained. With it, it's like someone holding my belly up for me. It's summer, so the straps that cross over the chest have been visible. At first I used safety pins to hide them, then I realized I could use my nursing bra (which I was already wearing for comfort purposes) to slip the straps off to the side under the cup snaps - works like a charm!! As a fibromyalgia sufferer who is dealing with pelvic and back/hip pain, this product has kept me mobile, moderately pain-free, and able to care for my very active pre-toddler.I definitely agree with ignoring the weight suggestions and buying a size up. At my smallest, I'm a size 8 with a G-cup bust, and pregnant left me a size 12-14 with a J-cup bust. "Small" just didn't seem possible. "Medium" was the right choice.

Don't Waste your Money!,

I was very excited to try this product. This is my second pregnancy, and my first daughter weighed 10 lbs 6 ozs, and I am not a very big woman. This pregnancy has been rough, my body seems to be worn out, and to beat it all, I work at a hospital and am on my feet for 12-13 hours a day. I thought the cradle would help, but it is just a jumble of elastic. It does not support like it claims and I did not even notice ANY difference in having it on. AND, you can see it under your top, I wore mine with my scrub tops and I peeped out of the shoulder area and all day people asked what it was. Not cool:-( Buyer beware...save your money!!!

Excellent twin support,
This review is from: Prenatal Cradle (Health and Beauty)
Around the 22 week mark of my twin pregnancy, I knew I needed some support for my ever-growing uterus. I found out about the Prenatal Cradle through a book on twins. I had tried several maternity belts out before & had to return them, as they did not provide enough support.I found it easy to adjust to & comfortable to wear. I am now almost 32 weeks pregnant, and I still wear my Prenatal Cradle Best Cradle every single day. If I don't wear it, I have more frequent contractions & both my belly and back hurt.

Oh how I wish I had known about this a month ago! This is my new favorite pregnancy item - I just got it at 38 weeks after having pain from a torn abdominal muscle, about three inches across just to my right of center, due to the weight of my bundle-of-joy-to-be, and I now have much less pain from the muscle pulling. It's awesome and surprisingly comfortable! I wonder if I had started using it earlier if I could have prevented the problem in the first place, but I'll try that out next time. I'm quite small and only gained about 25lbs, but the force from how concentrated the weight gain has been put a lot of strain on those muscles. The belts might work just as well if back pain is your issue, but for me, I wanted the straps to give added "upward" support.A couple of things that keep this from being 5 stars despite the comfort and benefits - the elastic material is quite itchy and the whole apparatus needs to be worn over a layer of clothing (and then, of course, under another). The straps are especially itchy and would benefit from a softer backing. But, once over a tank, it's relatively comfortable. The second issue is that it would be nice if the straps were adjustable or detachable. It shows under a lot of shirts because the cross in the front makes the straps come close to my neck. It would be nice to be able to pull those over to the outside - old man suspender style - so that I could make a choice based on my clothing but still keep the support. Or, the belt might be enough early on, so it could work to have them be detachable. Maybe after this one is born, I'll make some adjustments with my sewing machine to make that an option : ) But, all in all, this is a great product I would highly recommend.

Not Really Worth It,

This review is from: It's You BabePrenatal Cradle, Extra Large 300-350 Pounds (Health and Beauty)
I only ended up using this a handful of times in my 6th & 7th months of pregnancy. It fit tightly (and I was just barely in the low end of the weight guide sizing wise), was extremely cumbersome to try to put on, was uncomfortable in the underbelly area, and dug into my lower back as well. I agree with the reviewer who said that it looks better on the computer screen than what it actually is in real life. If I had it to do all over again, I'd save my money and tough it out instead.

I was suffering with severe groin pain during my pregnancy, so I purchased this belt hoping to find relief. I found this belt to be very uncomfortable. The elastic is so rough,it irritated me all day. Also the straps that go over your shoulders come up so high you are very limited on shirt options without the bands showing. Also, I had seen that it runs small and to order a size up, so I did. The band still cut into my lower ribs around my waist. By the end of the day I couldn't wait to take it off! I wore it once, then found a different support band and am much more comfortable now.

Used for a hernia belt,

We purchased this for my father in law who has a huge stomach hernia and is unable to have surgery. A regular hernia belt would not work with his bad back so we thought we would try this because of the straps and it works great!!!! I would highly recommend this to any pregnant person as well as anyone with our type of problem!!!

I order this after it being recommended in my birthing class. It came the day of my worst back pain yet. At first I did not notice a difference but after wearing it for about an hour my back pain subsided to a tolerable level. Now I wear it everyday. I am currently 29 weeks and had the product for two weeks and would not go a day without it. The other review are right about the straps being visible with open neck tops, but for me the benefit out weights the fashion. My only advise would be to wear a cami under it, it makes it that much more comfortable.
