Well I was lucky enough to be able to try this product out side by side with just the V2 supporter and a maternity back/hip brace. I'll start by saying I picked this one. Here are my pros/cons.

Prenatal Cradle Plus:
Cons:
*Not adjustable. I just don't get this. This is the main reason why I gave it four stars. It fits me, but I would like to be able to adjust the waist part to give more back support than it does. It would be "nice" to adjust the shoulder straps, but that is minor compared to the waist belt.
*A little chaffing at times in the bum region. But, to be fair the standard V2 supporter is as well. I solved this by purchasing some men's boxer breif underwear. I figure between the brace, the varicosities and all those other pregnancy "uglies"...why not?!?! It solved that problem!
*If you don't adjust the V2 part right you can get some wedgies. Just make sure to take the time adjust it properly after a bathroom break - which we all know are frequent!!
*Straps do show with some tops, but again it is an easy fix. I didn't have any safety pins so I used some paper clips and they worked just fine!
*The "rip" noise of the Velcro in the ladies room is a tad bit embarrassing, but I rather deal with that than the pain any day!!

Pros:
*Light weight and not much material. I am going to be the most pregnant during the summer. If I have to wear something everyday all day, I need it to be as comfortable and light as possible, and this totally fit the bill. It really is comfortable overall considering it looks like an awful contraption. I don't notice it for the most part
*Totally makes the pain of the varicosities go away!! The minute I take it off at night to get into bed, those few moments walking from one room to the bedroom I can feel the soreness. When it is on, I have no pain!!
*I could barely walk due to back and groin pain before I got this. After one week of wearing it, my back feels SO much better and the groin pain is almost gone. Coincidence? Not sure... but I am happy I am feeling a lot better!
*You don't really notice it under clothes. I do have a slight "bulge" around my waist (big hips then small and then big again), but it is minor. I am sure I am the only one noticing it unless someone is really staring...and let um!
*Can wear it from when I wake up until I go to bed without feeling the need to rip it off.

Back Brace and V2 Supporter:
Pros:
*Way more support on my back
*No Velcro ripping noise
*V2 supporter just pulls down like underwear

Cons:
*Bulky, hot, annoying and rides up constantly
*Takes me forever to readjust everything after my many bathroom breaks
*Felt the need to rip it off before the day was up

This is my fourth pregnancy and this time I'm having twins. I had severe back pain to the point of nearly not being able to walk with the previous three, and I doubted that a support belt would work for me, so I never tried one. Needless to say, being pregnant with twins, I gave in this time and decided to give one a try. I can't express enough how satisfied I am with this product. I still do experience slight pressure from time to time only. But overall, as soon as my back starts aching and I put it on, the pain goes away. It's been a great help for me. I wish I had used one before.

This is my second pregnancy and both times I was in a great deal of discomfort...so much so that I couldn't walk some days.
This prenatal cradle has made a world of difference and allowed me to enjoy my pregnancy. I highly recommend it. The only downside is that the straps do sometimes show when you're wearing an open neck shirt.

I ordered this product because, like another purchaser, I am pregnant with twins, and at times I just feel really heavy.

I ordered the size based on the weight limits. I'm 6 1/2 months pregnant, 5'6" and I'm only at 154 pounds right now. I ordered a small which is supposed to support up to 175 pounds. WRONG! It supports me, but I had to remove the bottom part altogether because it was squeezing my undies into places I'd rather not mention (and that was at it's loosest setting!) Furthermore, even after removing the bottom, it's just too snug around my belly and there is no way to adjust it. It's especially tight when I'm sitting, so I have to raise it so that it's sitting on top of my belly. I could be wrong, but I could swear that my twins are even uncomfortable when I'm wearing it, because as soon as I take it off or raise it to sit on top of them they become a lot more active (no matter what time of day)

It's nice to use when I have to stand for a little while or walk around, because I don't have to hold my tummy up with my hands, but it's already too tight and is just too uncomfortable to keep on for long periods of time.

If you think you need a small, I suggest you get a medium (or a tall/small if you're about my height or taller).

When I discovered I was preggo, I assumed that there would be moments throughout that would be uncomfortable. Near the beginning of my second trimester I found that it was getting increasingly painful to walk, roll over in bed, or do the most simple movements. A month later, the pain was incredible. Due to ongoing issues with my back, my pelvis has (in its attempt to rotate forward) become irritated in the ligaments at the front 'joint' - my doctor tells me that I can try a maternity band and see if that helps, or you can go with a more expensive cradle supporter (like this one) THERE IS NO COMPARISON, THE BANDS DON'T WORK. I cheaped out since I am having to buy all sorts of other stuff now that I am in baby mode...and really 30 bucks, 80 bucks...the decision wasn't hard at the time. After a few weeks of the band, and the bunching, and the stupid Velcro folding over every time you sit or bend at the waist, the pain was just getting worse. So after one memorable night of extreme pain, I took a deep breath and bought the crazy looking contraption you see above. I read about it being annoying, and having a wonky fit, but I kept faith in the people who swear the pain went away. They aren't kidding! Bear in mind I was literally unable to go to the grocery store without being in significant pain after 15 minutes of shopping. After just a couple days of wearing this product regularly, I was able to accomplish tasks like this with only minor discomfort - and by the end of my first week I am walking pain free again 90% of the time.

As far as you back pain sufferers, I am not a good judge there since I have some major spinal issues with rods and broken bits that have complicated me anyway. I do have to say that if there was one thing I would change about this product it would be to make the shoulder straps adjustable. I'm 5'4" - 135 (pre-preggo) so a woman who is 5'10" would clearly not have the same kind of fit through those straps as I do.

As far as the comfort level goes, it's not that bad. Really. The temps here have been high 90's - 100 degrees and I haven't really noticed any significant issues with this making me hotter than I already would have been. The largest portion of the supporter is around your waist and through the legs, and it does get hot and sweaty - but not overly so. I will have to mention that I don't follow package instructions with regards to my underwear. I wear my supporter OVER my underclothes. To me, its just too funky not to. Because of the pressure from the waist band, this will add to the discomfort a bit, as it pushes the seams of your panties into you. Another comfort issue, chafing. I did notice some chafing at the bikini line on my legs, after a full day of moving about, the first couple of days. I loosened the leg straps a couple inches, and this has resolved the issue without lessening the support level.

To sum it all up - It's funny looking, not too uncomfortable, and is the best dang 80(ish) bucks I have spent in awhile. I hope that if you purchase this you have as good of results with easing your pelvic pain as I am having. I have two months to go, and will be wearing mine (with the straps showing on occasion) without question.

I just received my Prenatal Cradle Plus so I can't give a very detailed review yet, but I can tell you that it instantly helps with the pain of vulvular varicosities. I have been unable to walk without pain for weeks and this made a difference immediately. I tried the crazy support stockings and everything, but this is tons better.

I had it shipped to my office and was able to figure it out and put it on in a restroom stall, and at seven months pregnant, doing anything in a restroom stall is a trick! Some have complained about the top straps showing but I found a way around that. Get some of the tiny binder clips from the office supply section and clip the straps to your bra. These clips don't have sharp edges and you don't even know they are there.

I agonized over the price of this thing for a long time, but even after just a few hours in it, I totally think it was worth it. My doctor recommended it and my insurance even covered it. If you want to file yours, get a prescription from your doc and save your receipt. It is considered a medical device by my insurer (a major company in the southeast) so maybe yours will cover it too.

I am 6 months pregnant and have had pretty serious spd since about 4 months (where I have constant pain in my pubic bone area). I was desperate for something to help since I am a waitress at least 1 night a week and am on my feet more than I'd like to be. I was very skeptical at first thinking this would not help at all. However, I did notice a significant difference by wearing it.

CONS: It is a little uncomfortable especially at first when you are trying to get used to it. It is a bummer that you do need to pin it to your bra depending on what type of shirt you are wearing.
It would be nice if you could adjust the belly part of the strap of it. Also, it's pretty obnoxious getting in and out of it. Lastly, it's annoying to have to wash the bottom part that detaches by hand. Trust me...it's a must!

PROS: It does help with the pain...which to me was all that mattered at this point. I do like that I can adjust the straps that go through your pubic area. I thought it would make my shoulders sore but it doesn't at all. I got the size that it recommended for me and it seems to be working fine. I agree that the tighter the better it will help. However, I am not in my 9th month so maybe I'll disagree then. :-)

If you are in pain and want something to help and don't care

If you have hip pain, groin pain, your privates are swollen b/c of a vericose (spell?) vein, well this thing works well!! It is sized right. I got a small, but I was on the higher weight of the small. So don't buy bigger. You want it to be tighter to apply pressure to the groin area to stop the vein pain. Best of luck with this.... I can say it saved my sanity by lowering/stopping the pain!!

This review is for the prenatal cradle with the V2 support. I am 5 mo pregnant with twins and feel huge. I bought this hoping it would relieve pelvic pressure and support my growing tummy. I bought a size that was completely by a few lbs larger than my current weight.

Pros: It does work to support.

Cons:
The velcro that tightens the strap to support your tummy is at an odd angle and pokes uncomfortably through most panties. unless you wear great granny bloomers, you have to fiddle with it to even get it to fall within panty lines


There is absolutely no way to adjust the hip -- It is already uncomfortably tight! I don't see how this is going to last me thro even next 25 lbs though it claims all the way thro 50 lbs more when I am expanding sideways as well with twins. What a waste of ninety dollars.

The other reviewers are right on about the straps always showing everywhere. If it worked comfortably, that would not be an issue for me since I need the support when I have to walk around.

This thing did not help me one bit. The V2 compression part of the belt would have been OK if the crotch piece was positioned properly to address the typical varicosity. Because it is aligned so it is centered (and not to the right, where most vulvar varicosities occur), it was not applying the most pressure where I needed it. Additionally, since the hip belt is so wide and thick, it dug into my flesh when I sat (and I did have the correct size). Not at all comfortable. And using the word "discreet" to describe this product is a lie! Wearing this thing with a bra under your clothes is certainly not discreet unless you're wearing a big sweater!
