5.0 out of 5 stars BEST Yoga for Pregnancy!!!!!!!!!
I'm a Prenatal Yoga Teacher... and this was the DVD I did through my own three pregnancies. And, I was so impressed, that I attended Gurmukh's Teacher Training, so I could become a Prenatal Teacher myself. This yoga is like no other. It will change your life, and the life of your child. We need change, and this is what you are looking for. Trust me. :) Times are...

3.0 out of 5 stars She talks too much, but gentle yoga
She talks too much throughout the session, i end up fast forwarding through a lot of it just to get to the movement. The yoga is not challenging which i think is ok for 3rd tri. All the stretching is good and seems to be in line with 3rd tri pregnancy needs with opening your ribs, hips and back. I give it an ok rating, the nice part is the moves are easy to remember so...

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful and peaceful prenatal yoga, March 4, 2009

I just finished this dvd for the first time and it is so nice! The scenery is beautiful and peaceful, and Gurmukh is lovely. She safely and gently moves the moms through postures and explains so many things about the movements. She is encouraging and the set is fun too! I love the part with free-form dance and the meditations. Even more, I love how Gurmukh encourages women to trust their bodies and the life force within them, and helps guide you to let go of any fear which may get in the way of your dreamed birth experience. She also gives great daily exercises to practice to make you more strong and ready for labor. If you are looking for a simple yet challenging routine to help you be strong for labor but also would like the spiritual aspect to be a part of your practice, this is probably the dvd for you.

I am going to recommend this to any of the yoga mommas I know! This one is definitely a must have.

PS. I have no affiliation in any way with the makers of the dvd, I really just bought it because of the great reviews.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice and Calming, September 16, 2008

Prenatal Kundalini Yoga and Meditation for Mothers to Be

I'm early in my pregnancy, but found my usual Kundalini videos contained breathing exercises that you aren't supposed to do while pregnant. So I did this workout just yesterday and really liked it.

I own the other Kundalini Yoga workout Gurmukh did, so I was ready for a nice outdoorsy set and a little more "woo woo" than my normal yoga, but this was not an easy, just sit and meditate workout. I got a little glowy with the squats, and liked that the workout was mostly active work, very little meditation or chanting. It also helped that the pregnant women weren't supermodels who still wear a size 2 with a cute little accessory baby bump.

A+.

4.0 out of 5 stars calming, meditative, August 16, 2009

I adore this video! I ordered this when I was 16 weeks pregnant. I had been following Brian Kest's POWER YOGA video before that, but found that I felt nervous with a lot of the poses. I had read another review that said this video is not physically challenging- and I agree. There are some squats and arm exercises that can be tough- but you aren't going to work up a sweat! But Gurmukh talks about how these postures prepare us for labor... both physically and spiritually.
There are a lot of stretches, dancing, rocking, chanting and meditation and I really believe that this video is helping me and my baby prepare for the impending birth.
I would recommend this to any pregnant woman or any woman trying to conceive. Actually, I have a feeling I may follow this video even after I deliver because it is so calming~!

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful and moving in every sense, September 6, 2009
This review is from: Prenatal Kundalini Yoga and Meditation for Mothers to Be (DVD)
I discovered Kundalini yoga from the Raviana series on Amazon so I was curious to find another teacher, especially geared toward prenatal yoga. As stated in other reviews, this is DVD is amazing. Gurmukh is lovely and the scenery is great. Some of the highlights: 1) a variety of excellent and doable hip movements to keep you fluid, loose, and open in that area, 2) A dance/visualization to soothing and lovely music, 3) great squat exercise that actually feels good, 4) a 3 minute exercise with your arms that simulates a contraction and truly helps you go inward and breathe through it, and 5) the VERY BEST FOR LAST- a balancing meditation followed by the most lovely song in the world by Snatam Kaur Khalsa-"May the longtime sun shine upon you, all love surround you"--I fell in love with this song and am sure my baby has. I highly recommend her album(s) which you can also find on Amazon. This DVD has it all and is the reason I have felt so balanced with little aches and pains throughout pregnancy. Enjoy and Sat Nam.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for back, August 27, 2008
By
This review is from: Prenatal Kundalini Yoga and Meditation for Mothers to Be (DVD)
I own some of top selling prenatal DVDs and this one is the one I always do over and over again.
Why? It is the best DVD for a pain-free back and it is not the easy one.
It's also quite challenging for my legs and there is some work for arms and of course - plenty for hips.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not for the touchy-feely phobes, December 1, 2010

This prenatal yoga video may require pregnant mamas (particularly those new to yoga) to keep an open mind and open heart. I have purchased several of the prenatal dvds, including Shiva Rea's, the Perfect Pregnancy workout (vols. 1 and 2), the Divine Mother Prenatal Yoga series with Anna Getty, and Jennifer Wolfe's Prenatal vinyasa yoga. This is the least rehearsed of all of the videos. It really does feel like you're sitting in on one of Gumurkh's yoga classes. All of the women in the class are just regular ladies and the whole thing is quite relaxed. The pro to this video is that it kind of feels like having a gentle, reassuring guide to reconnect you to your inner strength and wisdom, and to fight off the scared or nervous feelings that many moms-to-be feel. It is the most "spiritual" of all the prenatal yoga videos I've tried, and includes singing, chanting, and a free form dance section. If you can keep an open mind through this and just embrace it and go with it you will be rewarded with a deep sense of calm and relaxation. It is a very gentle practice. And you can't help but love her clothes! She makes you feel like YOU CAN AND WILL get this baby out of you with strength and grace.

One downside is that the camera spends too much time on Gumurkh, even when she is not doing a posture, rather than on the women practicing in order to demonstrate some varieties of the postures. She also gets wrapped up a bit in her own dialogue at times and loses track of the counts, but again this just makes it feel like a very regular yoga class that you are sitting in on.

My favorite video for getting my blood flowing and for body toning and strengthening is definitely the Perfect Pregnancy workout vol. 1. Of the prenatal yoga videos so far I like Anna Getty's the best followed by perfect pregnancy workout vol. 2. It has been nice though having a variety of the videos to choose from depending on my energy level and how my body is feeling.

5.0 out of 5 stars My FAVORITE prenatal yoga DVD, January 31, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Prenatal Kundalini Yoga and Meditation for Mothers to Be (DVD)
I tried SO many of them, and this was by far my favorite prenatal yoga dvd. I even used some of the techniques during labor, which REALLY helped. It was so special to me, and I felt very connected to my baby. I only wish I had found it earlier in my pregnancy, and been able to do it since the beginning. It was very relaxing, but I also felt like a got a gentle but good workout. I would definitely recommend this DVD, and I can't wait to use it for my next pregnancy.
