I home school my child and even though I'm a christian I still give her a well rounded education from both the secular and christian perspective, as that is what she will receive when she gets into college. I also feel she should be educated from both sides or she will have no right to speak on the subject. I believe this is an excellent biology book, written from the evolution theory premiss, but one of the best written books for teaching and learning on the subject from that point of view. They make it easy and fun to read. They also have places in the book referencing websites that you can go to that show actual experiments on line, as well as further information on the subject that keep the lesson fresh, fun and interesting for the student while learning. I would highly recommend this book as a teaching tool.

This has been a great book for my homeschooler. I always appreciate the in depth information and detailed illustration. Even though the book was several years old, I was happy with the condition and content. The seller that I purchased from was very helpful.....even spoke with me on Christmas Day to answer my questions. He has been very responsive with all issues. I wish all of my on-line book sells merchants were this helpful!

Love all the extras in this book. Some of the information is not as up to date as I would like or are not always backed by scientific evidence (seems like a "must" to me in a high school biology book!)For example, "the day has come when we are now able to produce new living things" you have seen this on TV. Since when does TV become solid evidence to support a statement!) I prefer true scientific studies that have used the scientific method to come to their conclusions. This is getting picky, because I appreciate the drawings, photos, extra study hints (especially in the teacher's edition) and the web pages that are suggested- done by Prentice-Hall.
