Prentice Hall's Health Question and Answer Review for the Medical Assistant (7th Edition)

I am the Program Director for a Medical Assisting Program and highly recommend this book to all of my students. It has more questions than any other books I've used but the best part is that every question has a rationale/explanation. Not errors noted. I got a 729 (98%) on the CMA and I had a student that studied only from this book and got a 711 (97%.

The CD-Rom that contains the extra tests does not work.

There is a known problem with the software, and there is no patch or support. You cannot use the practice tests, unless you are inclined to look up the answers for each of the 3 tests, at 300 questions per test.

When I called Prentice Hall, they basically said they were sorry, and hung up.

The Q & A review for Medical Assistants is excellent. The questions are pertinent, help you review and the post test is much like the actual CMA exam.

This book has a lot of percentages wrong. I mean what should I trust my text or this book? Just because the book has a lot of information doesn't mean it will help unless the information is correct. I am going to get a Lippincott's instead. Their reviews seem better and it is by the same person who wrote my book.

The CD ROM that comes with this book doesn't work and the 400 question practice test doesn't exist. There is a LOT of incorrect information in this book and mis-information. Avoid this book at all costs.

I think there needs to be a book that explains why the answer is that answer to go with this book. This book just has answers and questions in it. Great if you want to test your knowledge on it but not if you need a study guide. There isn't a study guide that i have found to go with this book yet if you have let me know..........
