5.0 out of 5 stars 5 STARS for price & seller
Desk arrived on time and in good shape from Unbeatable Sales. Well packed. Don't like the keyboard tray. Can't get my legs under it. It's only 21" off the floor. They should put that in the dimensions. But being a 6 footer, I don't like that feature on ANY desk. So I got a couple of wall brackets and used it for a small shelf. 3.0 out of 5 stars Tiny
Tiny but looked good in the small space we had for it. We especially liked the shelf that goes with it. Gave it to our son after we upgraded to a real desk.

For a simple snap together piece of furniture, and for only a little more than $100, it is extremely sturdy and well made. Friends and relatives thought I paid almost twice as much. Since my floor space is limited, I have a small, stand-alone shelf unit that doubles as a printer stand and all my computer needs are met. My 1st computer I shoud add, because I have a flat screen monitor and I think the old bulky ones wouild take up too much room. Unless you use the roll-out keyboard tray. Keep in mind the desk top is only 2' X 4'. If you need more shelf space, I recommend the matching hutch. All in all, a solid piece of furniture for not a lot of money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for what I needed., May 8, 2008

This desk was perfect for the space that I had to work with. I'm very happy with the purchase. I had read complaints about the pull out tray being too low so I just moved it up during assembly which was very easy.

A great addition to your study, office or den, the Sonoma Computer Desk includes a roll-out keyboard tray, a deep bottom shelf designed to hold a computer CPU, as well as an adjustable shelf for books and office supplies. Constructed from a combination of high quality, laminated composite woods, this desk is a good value for stylish yet low priced comsumer hunter. Basic designs combined with durable engineered wood components, quality hardware and solid design engineering. Excellent for the dorm, young students room, or even a study/den. Severval people have commented on the piece and can't believe it is priced under $70.00. Very easy to put together. I had it unpacked and ready yo go within 35 minutes. All plans are easy to interpret. Because it is a laminate , time will only tell is the laminate will hold up over a long period. I would suggest that since it is a laminate to not place unit too close to a heating sourse such as a raditior or floor vent.

4.0 out of 5 stars good inexpensive basic piece, July 16, 2008
good basic no frills piece. having a cordless screw gun made assembling the many parts a bit easier, I wouldn't want to tackle this with just a screw driver. It's sturdy and fine for a home office.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice looking function desk, June 13, 2011

This review is from: Sonoma Desk, Black (Kitchen)
This desk looks very polished and works just fine. However, the desk took about 2 weeks to ship and it was not easy to put together. I've put together several pieces of furniture from stores like Walmart, Target, and Ikea, and these directions were not as simple in my opinion. It took my husband and I about 2-3 hours to put it together. Keep in mind that this is not a piece one person can put together alone - you will need a second person to hold the pieces steady because they are big/heavy. Also, the top piece was slightly warped and would not fit well onto the other pieces. Because it is the top and gravity seems to keep it on, we're okay with it. We also left out the keyboard tray completely. We measured and it was also too low for my husband to sit there, so we didn't put it on. We didn't buy it for the keyboard tray, so it's not a big deal. My husband uses the desk for his computer and he seems to like it just fine. It is a nice addition to our study.

Pros: Nice looking desk, it seems sturdy, it's functional, it's inexpensive
Cons: Took a long time to ship, not easy to put together, one warped piece

4.0 out of 5 stars Great desk, more ideal for kids or shorter people, January 20, 2011

I got this desk for a kid, so I'm not really complaining as much as I think people should know that the clearance from the bottom of the desk legs to the keyboard/mouse shelf is 22 and a quarter inches (directly, if you have really poofy carpet that might reduce the clearance an extra smidge). I can still use it okay, but there ain't much leeway if I was stockier fellow. For lanky or shorter folks, and definitely kids, this is a very nice desk. Assembly was pretty basic (mainly screwdriver, a little hammer) and it came with a touch up tube in case you scratch it during assembly. A perfect addition to the kid's room.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great design, November 1, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Sonoma Desk, Black (Kitchen)
I am using this desk in my home office. It's sleek design is it's best feature. It looks sturdy and elegant and the desktop is spacious.
The assembly process was as expected - not super easy and not super hard.

The major drawback is the keyboard shelf. It is too low and I am not a tall person. I should have done the same thing as one other reviewer her - drilled the wholes for mounting the shelf up higher.

A minor drawback is that the other shelf is short and odesn't go as far back as the bottom fixed shelf.

I have enjoyed this desk in combination with the wall hutch for additional storage.
