Horrible customer service,

I never post product reviews but I am so frustrated dealing with this company that I feel compelled to let everyone know that they have really poor service. I ordered this bookcase in the middle of October and it arrived 2 weeks later with 2 of the panels cracked and broken. I wrote an email to the company and they very kindly asked me to send pictures, descriptions of the pieces and the piece numbers so they could replace the pieces. I complied and they told me they'd get me 2 new pieces right away. Two more weeks later, a box came with 2 panels but they were the WRONG panels. Again, I sent a nice email asking to have them PLEASE send the correct pieces as soon as possible (remember, it's been 4 weeks since I made my order). Customer service told me they would RUSH the pieces to me on a Wednesday. I finally received them a week and a half later (not a rush job in my book). Today, I got the package, opened it up and there is ONE panel in the box. Granted, it's the correct panel so we're getting somewhere but there was only ONE. I am so aggravated and have been living with 8 piles of books under my feet for almost a month and a half. This company may be cheap but you get what you pay for.

I ordered two of these bookshelves. When I assembled the first, I was disappointed with the quality of the product. The oak veneer is like plastic, the pressed wood is of poor quality, and the back of the shelves are actually made of paper. The pressed wood did not hold the hardware, and actually fell apart, which required driving in visible wood screws to hold the fixed shelves in place. It is virtually impossible to square the bookcase with the use of the paper backing, and the completed case is not sturdy. I did not open the second box, and high shipping costs prevent me from returning the products for a refund. I have a product that is not satisfactory, at double the price (I refuse to even assemble the second one). I thought I would have saved some money with these bookcases, but I was wrong.

I ordered this bookcase to go into a shallow space behind a door. It came with all the pieces, was easy enough to assemble and is a perfect color-match for another (unrelated) set of bookcases in the same room, I love that it has six shelves for even more book storage. It is behind a door, but it is so attractive I would be proud to have it out in the open. Sturdy, well crafted. Looks like fine furniture.

We purchased this bookcase to replace one damaged in a house leak. It didn't match the previous one exactly because shipping cost more than the amount of the exact matching bookcase. This one was the next closest match in appearance and number of shelves. It is working out nicely. We did learn that you want to open both boxes and lay out everything at one time before you start to assemble it so as to avoid the need to remove the backing panel to make your corrections.

This bookcase arrived quickly and was moderately easy to assemble. It came in two shipments. There were a few flaws including nicks and cracks in the "wood." There was also one panel with an underside which wasn't covered with whatever it is they have used to make the particle board appear woodlike. My other struggle was that they did not include any instructions for securing the bookcase to the wall although there were some additional plastic pieces and a screw provided. I ended up rigging my own system. Overall, this is a cheap bookcase that passes for a decent piece of furniture.
