The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because of the quality. But then again, for the price, you can't expect real wood. This desk and hutch is perfect for a kid's room, especially the hutch. Although not real wood it is solid and easy to assemble. I have recommended it to others who bought it and loved it as well. Highly recomment for a child's room since it looks great, it's functional, and not expensive. If damaged it is not expensive and it won't hurt your wallet. DEFINETELY get the hutch. It is worth every penny and more.

This is a small home office piece of furniture. It is relatively small so it can fit into tight places, perfect for smaller homes. This is a cleverly designed unit because they included a type of bookcase that you can attach on the wall above the desk-- a perfect space saver.

One reviewer said, "The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because of the quality." the quality issues are not just because it's not solid wood but because of the overall workmanship. The hutch comes with 23 pre-drilled holes and they supply screws intended to fit, but the screws only tighten down all the way on 11 of the holes!! the holes and screws supplied for "two-piece hanging rail system" are not deep enough and, the holes are a tad too wide so they don't tighten all the way and leave one with an uneasy feeling about the hutch's stability on the wall. This product is well below the quality of a similar Sauder product.
The hutch should NOT be thought of as a serious bookshelf; it's way too small. I'm using mine to hold 31 books, and a few nic-nacs.
On the positive side, I received the product within a short period of time and it was extremely well packaged, and, the hutch is quite attractive.

This is the second one i have purchased - the first was a black on for underneath my wall mounted flat screen [which looks awesome!], and the second is this maple one that i bought to mount over my nursery combo dresser - using this saved me at least [...] on purchasing the matching hutch for the dresser [ridiculous if you ask me to pay that much for glorified shelves]. The picture doesn't do the color justice - it is a bit richer maple, whereas the picture is more "natural" looking. This worked out PERFECTLY for me because i was expecting a slightly lighter hutch and it ended up matching my furniture exactly!! Shipping great as usual, A+++

I bought a desk and matching hutch, and BOTH were missing needed parts for assembly. When I make the mistake of buying a cheap product that I need to assemble myself, a very basic demand is to have all of the parts needed for assembly. I didn't, and I have better things to do with my life than spend hours of it on the phone, trying to explain which cheap pieces of junk I need somebody to send to me. This otherwise usable piece of pressed-board furniture has now been assembled with screws from my garage.

We bought this shelf to have more storage room in our nursery. It's very sturdy and easy to put together. You mount a board on the wall, and then the shelf slides onto the board, so it's not coming off the wall easily. The wood veneer is ok, obviously it's not real wood, but it looks fine for what it is.

Our computer desks were way too cluttered, so I decided that we need some place to put stuff that was easy to get to. The hutches were the perfect solution. They are sturdy enough for my husbands books and the shelves can be moved around to create lots of cubbies for my stuff. They weren't too hard to put together, we did the first one together in about 1/2 an hour. My husband did the second one alone is less than that. The instructions could be better, but the design is great. We have had these shelves up for over a month now and we love them. The cats think they are great perches too.

I now have 4 of these in my bonus room. I use them to display statuettes and other various paraphernalia. They are pretty easy to assemble and look good. Attaching them to the wall is also fairly easy.

This is NOT a hutch. It is a bookcase to hang on a wall. A hutch is something that sits on or attaches to a desk or table or china cabinet. Be careful in ordering because you might order the wrong thing. I ordered a Prepac computer hutch by mistake because I thought it was a desk. The picture was deceptive.
