4.0 out of 5 stars Great for the right purpose
I've put together quite a few of these types of furniture (cam lock/fiberboard), and this ranks up near the top. The wood is well machined, none of my panels were broken and all fit well. Keep in mind that you should ALWAYS use wood glue when assembling stuff like this, and that the whole is greater than the sum of the parts when it comes to assembly. This piece has 3...

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor Quality and Extremely Flimsy
I was very disappointed with this dresser. As we were assembling it, we realized that the pieces were cut unequally. The finished product was unstable and would wobble with the slightest movement. We had to place cardboard underneath to help balance the dresser. Also, the drawers would not open smoothly, again due to the fact that the holes for the slides were not lined...

This piece has 3 cross memebers, a top, and a back that all work together to keep it sturdy. As to the comment that you shouldn't put something heavy on it, that's right. Use solid wood furniture for that, seriously. This is for the inside of a closet, and fits that purpose well.

We had to place cardboard underneath to help balance the dresser. Also, the drawers would not open smoothly, again due to the fact that the holes for the slides were not lined up properly. Do not waste your money on this piece of junk.

3.0 out of 5 stars Cheap price, cheap quality, January 19, 2009
For the price, the quality is adequate. I had to wood glue some of the drawer sides because they arrived broken. Over all it is an attractive piece, but fairly poor quality.

3.0 out of 5 stars could be better, November 28, 2010

The main frame of the chest seems sturdy and it looks nice. Considering how much I paid for it I think the drawers(side and back panels) could have been made of studier materials. The holes for the cams were not consistent, some cams barely stayed in the pre drilled hole. I got it because it was the only one I could find in Maple with 5 drawers and metal drawer rails.
It is serving its purpose and goes with rest of the furniture in the room.

4.0 out of 5 stars Dresser Review, April 6, 2011

This review is from: Prepac Sonoma Maple 5-Drawer Chest (Kitchen)
Great dresser for the price. It isn't super solid but it will work for a couple years at least. One thing to watch out for is that with the drawers in, the dresser is kind of top heavy and it does help to mount into the wall, but the pieces came in great shape and there were no scratches or dents. We are really happy for it for the price we wanted to spend. We also used wood glue just to add extra strength to the drawers.

2.0 out of 5 stars So-so, February 18, 2011

Dresser isn't super high quality, but it works. The bottom drawers gets stuck, something's wrong with track. Not super easy to put together, takes two people and 3/4 hours, working all the way through. Assembly will go faster with a power drill- highly recommended. Planning to purchase fancier knobs, to dress it up a bit.

2.0 out of 5 stars Very Unsafe, April 28, 2008
This dresser is extremely lightweight and will fall over if a heavy tv or other item is placed on top and the dresser is not secured to the wall! The assembly was fairly simple when you follow the instructions. The dresser will be wobbly if the parts do not line up right, which adds to the danger of putting a heavy object on the top.
