5.0 out of 5 stars Great for Cookbooks!
Just what I was looking for. This is well built and my larger cookbooks stand up well in it.

I cook and bake a lot. When I do, I am constantly making a mess and spilling samples of my creation on the actual recipe. This works perfectly for making my cookbook more visible and guarding the pages from the flying batter.

There's only one problem - the adjustable metal "back rest" for the cookbook which holds it in place is not "locked" in as well as I would hope. When cooking multiple recipes, I found myself readjusting the back a lot for the various size books, during which sometimes it would fall out when removing the book. I can definitely live with this issue because it holds the book fine when the book is in, but it's just slightly annoying when switching.

I do like the fact that the base was heavier and wider than I thought it would be, which gives it more support. Also, it allowed me to place it (balance it) well on one of my less used counter canisters to keep it more out of the way.

Overall it does its job and I got it at a great price of $14!

I try a lot of recipes from Taste of Home and Southern Living magazines, and this holder is just perfect. I especially like the swivel base, and since there is never enough counter space, the way that it folds flat for storage. I will be ordering more of these for gifts.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great product, received broken, September 25, 2010

This recipe stand is exactly what I thought it was. The adjustable back support is perfect for anything from magazines to a very thick book. I also really liked the spring loaded plastic page protector. However, either it was mailed broken, or cracked in shipping. When I received it, there was a small crack in the front plastic shield where it attached to the base. It still functioned well, but I predicted a shortened life span, so returned it. I will order again and hopefully get an unflawed product.

4.0 out of 5 stars Love it!, November 8, 2010

I love how compact this little rig is. I bought mine at Cucina Moderna and it was in perfect condition. It can hold my hugest cookbook with tons of room to spare. The weights and measurements sticker refuses to stay down and when I go to move the cookbook holder sometimes the brace falls out and collapses but overall, this little cookbook holder has been a life (and cookbook) saver in my kitchen. In Canada these are super hard to find and I am grateful for it, I hope it lasts a long, long time. I have had the acrylic kind but it snapped apart. This is definitely tougher than that one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice book stand, October 29, 2009

I have had this recipe book stand for almost 1 year and I love it! This book stand can use any sizes of books, from small to big, and any thickness. It has a slide out tray on the front of it that lists measurement equivalents, which is very handy. The book is held up by a clear shield, which depending on the size of the book, does not really protect your book. But, I love that if it does get dirty you can just wipe it clean with a wet cloth. The metal rod that supports the back of the book is adjustable to hold any size book thickness. Also, I love that this book stand is light, easy to store, and it rotates, which is convenient. I am glad that I have this book stand and I definitely recommend it to others.

I did not rate this holder a 5 because when I need larger cookbooks held, it just can't do it and it also seems very flimsy. When using small cookbooks it works fine. The swivel makes it great especially when you are doing multiple things.

5.0 out of 5 stars works better than expected!, December 1, 2010

I did a lot of research before purchasing this cookbook stand. Some of the other reviews said that the support was loose or that the plastic part was broken. I haven't had either of those problems.

I bought this as a gift, and my guy LOVES it!! It really does support very large cookbooks, even the ones in binders.

In just the couple of weeks that we've had it, it's been put to a lot of use. We are very happy with this product!

This looked great online. I ordered it for a friend's birthday and it arrived broken. Metal wire had snapped. I sent it back and a new one came. It too was broken. Same problem.
